The first weekend in December we will have the Festival of Lights
 
The 23rd Annual Festival of Lights will be on December 2nd
From 6:00 to 9:00 PM in Downtown Greensboro.
 
We will have a musical stroll, with over 20 performing groups will be there with the                      downtown shops, restaurants, and galleries open throughout the festival area for everyone to          experience and enjoy the spirit of the holidays all sponsored by the Greensboro News & Record.

The spirit of the season is here again.  The largest outdoor ice skating rink in the state of North Carolina is in downtown Greensboro North Carolina.  There is a different activity planned for every weekend.  So bundle up and either bring your skates or rent some when you get there but take a spin around the rink and soak the atmosphere of the season.  
 
So come on down to Festival Park at 200 N. Davie Street in downtown Greensboro.  Your admission is just $8 (which will include your skates).

Come on by and see one of the NEW Greensboro Aquatic Center.  The trials well feature America’s elite swimmers competing for a spot on the Olympic team that will be going to London to represent the United States of America at the upcoming 2012 Summer Olympic Games.  
So head out to 1921 W. Lee Street in Greensboro, North Carolina.  The Greensboro Aquatic Center is right beside the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.  So come and catch the thrill of Olympic trials.

The Mud Bug Run in Greensboro NC 2011 down at Hagan Stone Park is complete.  
The local firefighters from Pleasant Garden and other local Greensboro businesses have decided to delve into the latest fitness trend of Obstacle Runs.  Speaking as a participant in such venues I jumped in with both feet literally.  

I have decided to make such a pastime a family affair.  My eldest son has been accompanying me but today we brought the youngest since they did have a "Kid's Bug Run".

Davie St  is the new Winterfest Ice Skating Rink!  For those of all ages even in this moderate weather we are now ice skating!  While we may not be Rockefeller Center we definitely are getting into the Christmas spirit.While the rink opened yesterday on Wednesday November 17th the Grand Celebration takes place November 20th and will be open until January 22, 2011.  We will have exhitition figure skating, hockey, public skating, and the rink will even be available for private rental.  A very nice introduction to the upcoming 2011 US … (1 comments)
