Guidelines to ease Short Sales it's called HAFA In April of 2010 the Obama administration started the HAFA program, that should make it easier for some financially troubled borrowers to sell their homes. Hafa stands for Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives.

 Many of us know how long Short Sales can take and how much work is put into getting short sale approval. So when you finally get your approval and it closes, it's that much sweeter.  Today's short sale closing was great for my seller. He initially owed over $240,000 and we successfully short saled the property for $111,000.  As an added bonus I was able to negotiate for the bank to pay the seller $3,000 cash for keys.!!!

We have a Short Sale that's just stalled, no matter what we do it's not getting traction....        
  Here's the answer why...  after getting the negotiator to look back through the file he found that this owner had been approved for a loan modification and that had caused the system to stop processing any of the short sale tasks that need to be done. Once the status was changed to short sale, my stalled short sale got back on track. Another lesson learned, Loan Mods and Short Sales don't mix.
