Don't forget the camera! The Georgia - Tennessee state line divides the twin cities of McCaysville, GA and Tennessee. You can't miss the blue line painted across Hwy. 60 through the parking lot of the local grocery store. Stand with one foot in Georgia and the other in Tennessee. I purchased the prettiest sofa in a furniture store that was once there. The state line ran through the center of the store. I noticed a new cafe not too long ago and have been wanting to stop in and sample the food! Today, the weather is pure perfection in the mountains and it's just one of those wonderful Fall days that makes you want to be outdoors. fannin county: Stress Management Course Offered - Fannin County North Georgia Mountains

Nancy Smith, Pharmacy Direct with Fannin Regional Hospital is offering a stress management course again this year. The course will start on Thursday, January 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the main conference room of the hospital.
This will be an eight week course and will be held every Thursday evening at the same time above. The course is free and will only accommodate 20 attendees. Anyone who is interested should be sure to reserve a seat by contacting Ms. Smith at 706-258-4651.

The Blue Ridge City Council has voted to proceed with their plan to annex part of Hwy. 515 from south of the Blue Ridge city limits to the Gilmer county line and from the east of the city to the Lakewood (intersection of Hwy. 515 and Hwy. 60).
The Georgia General Assembly must approve this change. Blue Ridge city council may have waited too late to start this again since the Georgia legislature will soon convene. Many of you have been reading my posts about the November 6th election facing Fannin County residents. The resolution to allow liquor by the drink which became a "spirited" (so to speak) issue. This is a follow-up to report the outcome of the election as reported yesterday evening.
As reported by The News Observer, the referendum was defeated 3871 to 3330 votes with 14 out of 14 precincts reporting.
