travel: Mercier's Orchards - Customer Appreciation Day

Mercier Orchards is a beautiful apple orchard which opened back in 1943 by Bill and Adele Mercier. Still family owned and operated and celebrating 70 years of fruitful harvest! This is a "must-do" when visiting Blue Ridge. A huge favorite among locals and visitors alike. Strawberries, cherries, blueberries, peaches, plums, nectarines and of course apples! are currently grown and harvested.
Events such as U-PICK, kite flying, kids baking classes, along with a deli, bakery and farm winery make this a perfect outing for everyone. Kids will really get a kick out picking their own apples!
It is my humble opinion to say anytime is a good time to be in the North Georgia Mountains but my favorite time of all is October and November because that means Autumn has arrived.Autumn officially began September 22 and right on cue, the temps changed accordingly. Wonderfully milder days and cooler nights spell R-E-L-I-E-F after a blistering summer. Soon, the Autumn leaves will be showing off their colorful splendor. Community News and Events, Fannin County Senior Circle Chapter, Vacations, Travel Senior Circle Chapter in Fannin County Georgia is having the time of their life in the prime of their life. For those folk who are nifty 50 or older are welcome to join the chapter. What a great way for seniors to meet new people, become healthier and great opportunities to travel with friends. Dues are only $15.00 annually. Great travel plans are scheduled for the remainder of the year and "don't forget the Alamo" in 2011.
