I have LONG recognized the value in good communication. And I have long observed how "bad" communication is often the sole root of poor outcomes (great material for future posts!).
I recently finished the book, The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins which gave me an "aha moment" to finally put my long-pondered thoughts and observations about communication sicinctly into place:
Silence Causes Distance.

Staging is certainly one of the top discussion topics when meeting with serious (key word!) sellers. Kathy has some great reflections here. I love the trend moving TOWARD personalization. I've actually seen family pictures work FOR a seller when they were recognized from years gone by.
The key is to remove distractions. As you prepare your home for market, use Agent Brenda's basic rule: "If your home feels a bit bare, you properly prepared it for perspective buyers." Don't underestime the power of "purging and thinning" along with basic maintenance tasks. Take the time and it'll pay off!
