customer service: How to find good Customer Service in Real Estate - 10/10/22 06:38 AM
I have always been a "stickler" for customer service...  I'm a firm believer that no matter how big or how small the transaction, a customer should ALWAYS feel some genuine, human interaction and appreciation any time they interface with a business.  This expectation isn't limited to retail;  it should be felt in healthcare, the insurance industry, and countless others including my personal favorite:  Real Estate.
This past weekend, I could actually devote many of its hours to things that I  wanted (& needed) to do and just a few to work.  I returned home from some errands noting that I had a … (7 comments)

customer service: Keeping an Agent Going... My favorite collection - 01/11/17 05:30 AM
I've always been that person who wanted to work with people.  When deciding upon my college major, it was the one that put me in front of people that was chosen over the one that would isolate me.  Nearly 20 years in healthcare connected me with loads of people and when the time came for a career change, the fuel of working with people remained my desired energy.
Real Estate is about relationships.  Well... that's the way I choose to approach it anyway (others do it a bit differently).  Potential clients, buyers, sellers, lenders, attorneys, paralegals, inspectors, appraisers, family members of clients, … (8 comments)

I belong to a Realtors group on Facebook & came across the following post over the weekend by Hugh Brown:  "Are we a group just getting worse? Is it any wonder the average person feels all Realtors are either morons or crooks?".

customer service: Put the Client First and the Rest Will Take Care of Itself - 09/08/11 02:46 AM
A fellow agent in Massachusetts recently posted this customer service philosophy piece that I couldn't have said better myself!! My goal is truly YOUR goal. My entire professional career has focused on helping people reach their goals. I have sold homes for $5000 (really!!) and for much, much more. My commitment is the same in each & every transaction --- to match the right property to the right buyer so that I am a welcomed visitor long after closing! And if you - or anyone you know - wants an agent who works like that, I look forward to our partnership! … (9 comments)

customer service: Good Customer Service... Demand it! - 06/13/11 01:54 AM
It was a busy weekend that included a number of retail interactions... big box stores, coffee shops, softball concession , pizza places, etc (yes! I really need to find the will & way to cook more at home this time of year!!).  Throughout the weekend, I found myself "grading" the customer service I received at these places...
* Saturday, 6:30 am.... "Good morning! How are you?," I ask the familar staff member before placing my breakfast order. Response? "Terrible! I had to get up!". GRADE? F!!!
* Saturday, 1:00 pm... I was asked "Can I help you find anything? No? OK. If you … (6 comments)
