Facts about Leisure World homes There are a total of 5,659 homes in Leisure World of Maryland called Mutuals. 898 are Cooperatives and 4,676 are Condominium ownership. The Regency is a neighborhood of 85 single family homes and a few towhomes located near the main entrance. This neighborhood participate in a Homeowner Associaton. The Leisure World community was developed over a priod of 50 years and includes a broad range of housing styles including: townhomes, rambler style patio homes, garden style and hi-rise buildings. Some buildings located within this 610-acre community are situated around the 18-hole golf course that provides fantastic views.
There are about 260 garden plots in the Leisure World of Maryland garden center located within the community and near the MedStar Medical Center. The plots are about 150 ft sq each. These plots are for the use of Leisure World residents. Individuals rent each plot on an annual basis, and must follow the rules of the garden plot organization. Garden Plot Group Managers are all volunteers and provide gardeners with all necessary large manual tools, water hoses, wood chips, clean sand, compost AND bees.
