mortgage market: Consequences

Webster's defines the phrase "taking the consequences" as "accepting the results of one's actions". I have been a Realtor for more than 22 years, and in that time, I have worked through every type of market. Never in the past 22 years have I seen a situation that was more avoidable than the market we currently find ourselves in. The consequences we are suffering are the result of the banking world's suspension of logic. Greed has motivated these institutions to break their own rules by lowering or completely ignoring their standards to open up the market to historically unqualified individuals.
