The Abilities Expo is being held today Friday July 31 Thru Sunday August 2, 2015 at NRG Center Hall E. The Expo has a clever name as it is geared for individuals who unfortunately have some type of disability. The mission of the Expo is to empower folks who have some type of handicap to overcome their disability and enjoy life to its fullest.

I did have an upper and lower GI test yesterday July 16, 2015. If you are unsure what type of exam or test both are go to the Wikipedia definition of Upper GI and Lower GI. Anyone who had these two tests already knows what you have to do for preparing to take the gastrointestinal tests. Our newest family member Miss Duchess was a rescue dog found running along a busy street by my step son Alex about 3.5 months ago. She is a funny little pup and she loves people and attention. Without question she is a lap dog. Recently she has started sitting in the chairs Yolanda and I use at the breakfast room table when we are blogging on Active Rain. We have had a recurring problem with drivers running through part of our yard on the right hand side of the driveway and the section closest to the street. This week it became a bigger problem as there was a huge tire rut in the grass with a lot of mud and grass in the street. I am surprised I did get a nasty letter from the Grand Lakes HOA but that may arrive next week!

As some of you know, we were very fortunate to travel from Katy TX to Melbourne Australia recently to celebrate our Anniversary. One of many things we found which was very different and fascinating is the local Street Art. Artists paint the sides of walls in arcades, alley ways, side of buildings in the Central Business District as it is called. This type of artwork is not in every area or on numerous walls but there are areas where it is prevalent.

Here is a potential list of worthwhile and highly rated summer home improvements projects for folks in katy and beyond Most of these items are fairly reasonable from a cost standpoint:
Clean interior of home and get rid of junk and clutter. Sometimes this is a huge project.
Clean air vents and ducts ( ducts may not be possible).
Inspect your roof. Its a good idea to do this at least a couple times each year.
Paint and/or stain home’s exterior.

Texas Master Naturalist Coastal Prairie Chapter will conduct a talk from the Texas Parks and Wildlife titled “Texas Dirty Dozen” at 7 PM on Thursday July 2, 2015. I just read on the National Weather Service and on Weather Underground Tropical storm Bill be be making landfall very shortly about 40 miles southwest of Matagorda TX. The katy and the entire Houston area plus other areas in the [ath of the storm are under a Tornado Warning, Flood Watch, Flash Flood Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning.

Katy Tigers Girls Softball Team Wins State Title
Saturday June 6, 2015 the Katy Tigers Girls softball team defeated the Lewisville Fighting Farmers 3-2 to win the Tigers first State Softball Title. The Tigers had 36-6 record during season which included 14 straight wins in the State playoffs. Phenomenal achievement by the Lady Tigers. Numerous of these wins had dramatic flair and this included the state Championship game which was won in the bottom of the 7TH inning when a walkoff single by McKay Bloxham brought home the winning run.

I was very fortunate to be able to attend the Indy 500 this past Memorial Day weekend. Our friend has purchased tickets for the race for several years now. I went in 2013 but had to skip last year as I had an out of town client here to view homes in Katy TX Memorial Day weekend. The race was tremendous with 4 cars finishing within one second of each other and Juan Pablo Montoya barely winning. The actual attendance is never released as they don’t have to release it. The weather is sunny and it is already hot and humid here in Katy TX. After all that rain now my grass is starting to get dry and I need to turn my sprinkler system back on as I had to turn off during the rain and water deluge. This system needs adjust but the repair people I have called never called me back even though I found them on Angie's list. Bad review will be posted.
