dave ramsey: Farewell to an old reliable friend...
- 10/06/10 04:58 AM
Farewell to an old friend... She came in to my life about 4.5 years ago. I needed a moderately nice 4 door sedan for for my real estate business. It was just there sitting unused beside the building that I worked out of at the time. It had been sitting for a few months since she bought a replacement car. The tires had gone flat and the paint was shot form years sitting outside. A '95 Jag that my real partners wife had purchased almost new about 10 years prior. It had about 12,000 miles on it when she bought it. (5 comments)
One day there was a great flood. A woman of great faith was stranded on her rooftop and a boat came by ... "Get in we'll save you" The woman replied, " No thanks God will save me" Soon another boat came by and offered to pick her up. "No thanks, God will save me" The water got higher and higher.
A helicopter came by and dropped a rope.. "Hang on we'll save you!" The woman again replied.. "No thanks, God will save save me" The woman drowned. When she got to heaven she asked God, Why didn't you (3 comments)
OK, I’ll admit that I don’t have this conversation very often since most of my buyers do not have the choice to pay all cash for their next home. But I have in fact had the conversation a few times.
Not too long ago I had a client who brought up exactly this point. We had an accepted contract on a bank owned home in which the buyer had made an all cash offer.

dave ramsey: What if your guy loses?
- 11/03/08 12:53 AM
What If Your Guy Loses?******************** I just received this email from John Gay over at CountryWide. It does give us a lot to think about. Two days from now we will wake up to a newly elected president. (barring any "hanging chads" or similar "to close to call" scenarios) As we have done for over 200 years years the United States will have a peaceful transfer of power in which every citizen was allowed, but not required, to participate. Wednesday morning we will all wake up doing what we do now... Promote our business, search for buyers, search for sellers, create new relationships, (12 comments)
dave ramsey: An American Creed

An American Creed I Do Not Choose to Be a Common Man *******************************I found this posted on Dave Ramsey website today and dug around and found an audio link to him discussing this quote as well. In my opinion this quote embodies an American Spirit that is somewhat lacking in todays culture. I hope that all of you enjoy this as much as I did. ****** An American Creed I Do Not Choose to Be a Common Man It is my right to be uncommon—if I can.I seek opportunity—not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and (4 comments)
dave ramsey: Buying a home in today's market, part 1 - Is it a good time to buy?
- 10/11/08 12:21 PM
Buying a home in today's market, part 1Recently, I had the pleasure of doing an adult ed. home buyers class for the Marietta Community School. I have decided to take some of my outline notes and form the into a blog series for home buyers. The content is geared a little more toward first time buyers but will still be very relevant for move up buyers as well. Also, this is based on my own knowledge and experience in our local market. All real estate is local, so if you are reading this in another part of the country then some (4 comments)

dave ramsey: Dave Ramsey - The 7 Baby Steps

Dave Ramsey - The 7 Baby StepsSince we are starting a Dave Ramsey Fan group here on AR I thought it might be nice to list his 7 baby steps to financial freedom. Hopefully as this group grows there will be folks stopping by who are not so familiar with Dave's strategies. This will be a good quick outline for visitors to refer to.1. $1,000 in an emergency fund. This is stashed away for true emergencies. The latest hot concert tickets going on sale is not an emergency. The water heater going out in your home is an emergency.2. Pay off (18 comments)
dave ramsey: Dave Ramsey - You fix You!
- 10/08/08 05:42 AM
Can Washington fix things and what are our own attitudes? As some of you may know, I am a fan of financial advisor Dave Ramsey.Sometimes I don't agree with him 100% but I certainly can't argue with his success or common sense approaches to financial matters. Last week I posted Dave's plan for the financial crisis. Dave Ramsey's Common Sense for Economy - act now Now that current plan is signed what does Dave think? YOU fix you! Monday, Oct 06 Question: Dave talks about something that he finds very disturbing. It has to do with people's attitudes toward Washington, and (3 comments)

Dave Ramsey is the host of a nationally syndicated radio show on personal finance and the best selling author of "Financial Peace" and "Total Money Makeover". www.DaveRamsey.com Dave has put together a simple plan for reviving the credit markets and stimulating the economy. This is all good common sense stuff. It is so simple that the folks in Washington might have a hard time comprehending it. LOL! Read the article and surf through his website. If this makes more sense to you than shelling out $700 million then there are links there to email your Senator and Congressman. Dave was just (11 comments)
