Interesting take from RealFeminist.com. It seems that $35,000 is actually the textbook amount given to avoid a nuisance lawsuit with little or no merits.
I also did a Google search for "typical severance payout" and it ranged from 2 weeks to 12 months. With rumored payouts of $35,000 and $45,000 and one of the plaintiff attorneys saying it was all handled by phone, email and fax, it looks to me like these were SEVERANCE packages that just got inflated because of a thin claim of harrasment.

Whats worse than a root canal? True story! So I was at the dentist today getting a root canal. Each chair has its own TV which I thought was pretty nice. In all honesty, the root canal was not as bad as the deep cleaning last month, except for the dentist sticking that hockey puck thing in my mouth. I suppose that was to keep me from biting his finger off if he hit a nerve or something. For several years I have been a supporter of the “Fair Tax”. When I originally heard of the idea I liked it since it taxes the underground economy. All of the people who are flying under the IRS radar by getting paid in cash will instantly become tax payers! Waiters, drug dealers, illegal immigrants, all will become part of the tax system. Yes, even the kid down the street that cuts your grass becomes a taxpayer. when he spends the money on a new Xbox game and double McCheeses he pays the fairtax! politics: Politics is my favorite "sport"

Some people love football, baseball, nascar, or many of the other competitive athletic sports. I love many of those as well. But without a doubt my favorite "game" is politics. The perpetual spotlight and scrutiny make it incredibly intense for the "players". The positioning and strategy involved are complex and the entire dynamic of the game can change with one event. The rise of Obama and the tenacity of Hillary make for great stories. Personally I don't think that story is over yet. Wait 'til the convention and see what happens.
