I need a new home where should I look?  First off, congratulations on making the decision to purchase a home.   Whether its your first or last move it's a very exciting step.  If it's been a few years/decade since you last purchased a home a lot has changed.  I remember searching for our first home they still used the huge MLS books.
Thankfully, when I got my license in 2003 our area was all electronic with the Internet searches.  No more huge bulky books to search through.  Back then you only had a couple choices, the newspaper or … (1 comments)

buying a home in utah: I want to buy a home now what.... (step 3 offer /negotiations) - 09/13/16 08:52 AM
I want to buy a what?  You've been prequalified, you have sat down and made your list of wants/needs and dreams and toured the homes. After searching, whether it was the first home you found or the 20th home you found it.  You found the home that you really really want.
Decision:  I have had people in the past who want to "think about it" people who want to "pray about it" people who want to bring other family members through the home first before deciding to write an offer on the home.  I completely understand, buying a home is … (1 comments)

Its time to tour homes.  Originally I was going to write about negotiations and offers next but felt I should dive into the touring of homes a little deeper.  First off I know you've probably watched a show or two on HGTV and they certainly have their own version of the home buying process and how many homes you will expect to see..... here's the reality based on some of the homes I've seen

New Construction Homes:  Salt Lake County has been booming as a sellers market for almost two years now.  With the continued shortage of existing homes for buyers to choose from we have also seen a surge in new construction homes.   Buyers have struggled with finding a home to purchase even at the higher price points.  In years past buyers could give up on their desired location and still find a home they really like.  This year even that has been a struggle.
No matter what area or price point you are looking at inventory is low.  If you are one of the … (1 comments)

Below is a blog originally written by Larry Bettag one of my favorite bloggers here on AR. Credit is an area you need to know what you are doing to make sure you take the correct steps. I've seen "advice" given to people from their "favorite friend or relative for example" that pluments their score and ruins their purchasing opportunity. Be careful whose … (0 comments)
