caldwell idaho real estate: The top 5 changes I have observed in real estate - 01/02/10 12:35 PM
In my nearly 30 years in the real estate business I have seen the business of selling real esate change dramatically. I have to say that in the past few years I have seen some pretty dramatic changes and below I have listed some of the changes I have seen and what I deemed to be important if Realtors are to not only survive but flourish over the next decade.

1) The internet is here to stay and any Realtor that wants to flourish in the future in real estate must have a strong web presence. I have told many clients that before … (19 comments)

caldwell idaho real estate: Caldwell Idaho >> What a little city can become - 05/24/08 06:18 AM
Some little bedroom communities close to a major capital city wither away and die a slow death.   Others rise above the challenges and create a wonderful little city that gets everyone's attention and attracts those seeking an attractive and prosperous environment away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
I was raised in the small town of Caldwell Idaho and in the 50's and 60's it was the envy of many residents of the Treasure Valley which included the capital city of Boise.  Caldwell had a large Sears store, Idaho Department Store, a wonderful men's store and other thriving … (8 comments)

caldwell idaho real estate: Canyon County growth one of the strongest in the nation - 03/22/08 11:19 AM
New Census Bureau figures show slightly more of the people coming from other states and nations settled in rural counties than in preceding years. Canyon County has been reckognized for having a growth which was higher than neighboring Ada County, the home of Boise.
Based on county population estimates for July 1, 2007, just over 80 percent of the 35,500 increase in statewide population from mid-2006 occurred in the six counties with populations over 70,000. That compared to 84 percent of the growth between mid-2005 and mid-2006 and 85 percent from mid-2004 to mid-2005.
Those large counties - Ada, Bannock, Bonneville, Canyon, Kootenai … (2 comments)

caldwell idaho real estate: Silver City of Idaho >> An Idaho Treasure - 08/06/07 06:37 AM
One of the best little drives one can take if you live in the S.W. corner of Idaho were I do is to the historic town of Silver City.   If you are around my age you will remember Bonanza and The Rifleman, two of my all-time favorite T.V. Shows. Those two shows remind me of Silver City.
When you drive south of the city of Nampa on Highway 45 you will eventually cross the Snake River of Idaho.  You then turn due south on State Highway 78 and you will follow the Snake River for a few miles before you turn do west … (20 comments)

caldwell idaho real estate: The Snake River of Idaho - 04/26/07 06:04 AM
Idaho is well know for it's rivers, lakes and streams and one of the most well known Idaho waterways is the Snake River.  I have heard many descriptions of the Snake River over my lifetime as it runs across the bottom of the state and right near my hometown of Caldwell Idaho
I have heard the Snake River described as mysterious, awesome, awe inspiring, thrilling, etc.  I agree with all of these and much more.  It is a powerful natural river that is the lifeblood of Southern Idaho and is one of the reasons Idaho is such a prosperous state.

When conversations start across the country about Idaho I am sure that the topic of Idaho Potatoes comes up at one time or another in those conversations.   I'm sure this makes sense since so many commercials and articles have been written about that awesome crop that put Idaho on the national map.
Something else has been brewing in Idaho since immigrant wine-makers from France and Germany as far back as 1872 recognized that Idaho is a wonderful environment for wine grapes.  Dry summer weather and fast draining volcanic ash soils at elevations up to 2,800 feet provide healthy growing conditions.

caldwell idaho real estate: The College of Idaho >> An Idaho "Gem" - 04/22/07 07:24 AM
When you hear about Idaho I would bet a steak dinner the first thing you think of is potatoes.  This has been ingrained in the minds of many across the country with all the media focused on that popular and important crop Idaho produces.
This past January, 2007 Boise State University made news when their football team fired the shot heard around the sports world when the underdog Boise State Broncos team defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the now famous 2007 "Fiesta Bowl".
Well there is another "Gem' in Idaho very few talk about and fewer yet have even heard about.  I am referring to "College of Idaho".   Joe Albertson … (5 comments)

The Boise River has long been a beautiful part of S.W. Idaho and supplies irrigation water, rafting, boating and fishing opportunities as it has done for many over the years.
The river runs approximately 75 miles long starting in the mountains east of Boise, the capital of Idaho.  As it runs through downtown Boise many beautiful parks border it and thousands take advantage of it during the summer months.  It is common to see the Boise River dotted with rafters and fishermen throughout Boise and other parts of the river as it makes it's way through neighboring Canyon County.  The river … (6 comments)

caldwell idaho real estate: Caldwell Idaho - 04/20/07 03:19 AM
Caldwell is has long been the sister city to Nampa and it is my hometown and close to my heart.  Caldwell is located about 30 minutes west of the Capital city of Boiseand only 15 minutes from Nampa. Calwell is located in Canyon County.  In 2000 Caldwell started seeing some positive changes and many new residents have moved to Caldwell because of its "Simple Life" and positive leadership. It's population stands at approximatley 40,000 in 2007.
Indian Creek runs through the heart of Caldwell and plans are underway to take advantage of the beauty of this natural waterway.  A water wheel has been … (4 comments)
