Whenever there is an opportunity for a quick, easy listing, there is always going to be competition, logically.  Yes, expireds can be easy listings, but the the biggest challenge is the competition from other agents.

 "Borino, I would like to work expired listings in a different area. The prices in the area that I live in are about $300K-$900K. I would like to work expireds in this area! The problem is I don't have any past sales in this area nor does anyone in my office.
