Recently, we were contacted by Scott Moses, an avid outdoorsman who is passionate about our nation's National Parks. Scott launched his own website, LiveOnceLiveWild.com, which is dedicated to sharing his passion with the world. We asked Scott if he would write a guest blog post for us about the best hiking in Bozeman, Montana and he enthusiastically obliged. As is the case with nearly everyone who investigates our little slice of heaven, Scott's response after writing the article for us was that it makes him want to move to Bozeman. bozeman activities: Gallatin County Jail and the Pioneer Museum
- 12/18/11 10:59 PM
Gallatin County Jail Celebrates 100 years! It was the December 100 years ago that Gallatin County opened the new jail in Bozeman. The building no longer houses criminals, but instead, hosts the Pioneer Museum, with plenty of evidence that it was the jail house for 70 years! There are gruesome reminders, like the hangmans’ noose and trap door, along with the isolation cell called “Siberia”, that some terrible criminals were kept here. In 1911, the construction cost was $33,932, quite a sum for those days. The Historical society maintains the building at no cost to tax payers these days, it relies entirely on (3 comments)
Our small town welcomes Dierks Bentley to the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse for an evening of music November 17th. Dierks is an American Country singer who has been on the scene since 2003. His hits include:
“What Was I Thinkin” “Come a Little Closer” “Settle for a Slowdown” “Every Mile a Memory” “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)”
Tickets are $35 each and there are some great seats left. I've got mine, do you have yours?
For any of you that think we live in the hicks out here in Montana… you are so correct!! We do live in the hicks, but remember Woodstock? We have our own version here, only not quite so many folks attend. Several times during the summer we have outdoor musical events. Not just concerts… events!, like Rocking the Rivers in Three Forks, MT for instance. 10,000 folks show up in the middle of nowhere with campers and tents just to have a great time! The music line up is phenomenal, with Creedance Clearwater (0 comments)
