We all remember the fun facts like “If the earth were a gumball, 1 million Earths could fit inside of it.” These are the mental images that capture the minds of young astronomers. The Museum of the Rockies put on a special showcase of the stars this weekend as a part of their Astronomy Day. Comic-Con is an event that traditionally takes place in San Diego which promotes the newest cutting edge displays of technology as well as paying homage to the classics of comic book legends. This year, Chantell Bury, director of films for the Associated Students of Montana State University, has brought a spinoff of that tradition here to the Procrastinator. Costumes are highly encouraged, the original Tim Burton Batman will be showing, and artists Stephen Downer and Chris Turbuck will be featured in an art show. A snowstorm came in this past Sunday night dropping a heavy blanket of snow over what had been a nice and bright sixty degree spring day 24 hours prior. An art contest blooms with the warmer weather for Montana’s kids to depict farm life. The statewide calendar art contest is open for students from kindergarten-8th grade. Expressions of farm life are to be represented on an 8.5 by 11 white piece of paper. It will be interesting to see the results! Submit all entries to Gladys Walling, P.O. Box 55, Winifred, MT 59489. LOCAL EVENT HIGHLIGHTED: This weekend marks the début of MSU’s Badgers, the Division II rugby team here in Bozeman, MT.
