Did you know you can download and print the Red Sox 2013 schedule? It's here: Red Sox 2013 Schedule. It's going to be a great year. It's nice to be tied for first place! I'll take it while we can get it. Then again, perhaps this is our year. I know some people who read my blog are Yankees fans. That's okay with me. I mean, after Fenway, Yankee Stadium is the best place to see the Red Sox win! Heck, after Fenway and Wrigley, Yankee Stadium is the best place to see baseball. Here's to a great summer, and to (5 comments)

To give you a sense of Duxbury, here's a brief overview of the history and attractions. Duxbury, Massachusetts, is a quiet coastal community located in Plymouth County, 37 miles southeast of Boston. It was the second town created in the Plymouth Colony. The Duxbury church was gathered in 1632 and the town was incorporated in 1637. A committee comprised of members of both the Plymouth and Duxbury churches studied the possibility of rejoining into one central church and town; two sites were suggested, one in Duxbury and one in the current town of Kingston at the Jones River, but no decision (7 comments)

Duxbury Town and Utility Phone Numbers Here's a list of Duxbury town and utility phone numbers you can copy, print out and post on the side of your refrigerator. If you are new to town, you'll need these. Even before you buy, you may be talking to the Conservation Commission, Treasurer, the Percy Walker Pool, the electric or phone company. You may only need one of these phone numbers once, or once a year, but when you do . . . you'll be glad it is near to hand.

In my business, it's all about service. That's why I love to see and receive excellent service. To get my loyalty and my repeat business, it's enough to do a good job and be nice about it. To get my recommendation -- to have me refer business to you and tell my friends about you -- you have to be REALLY good at what you do and the way you deliver it. To get me to promote you, well . . . you've got to be the best. The owner of Cape Auto in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Dave Gallerani, gave me two (3 comments)

It's not over 'til it's over. After my last post about the Nemo Storm on the South Shore of Massachusetts ("Day of the Walking Dead"), the power was on until 3 p.m., then mysteriously shut off. Just then, Kathy and her parents came in with hot pizza from Kingston. The place had been mobbed, but the owner was just glad to be able to serve everyone and use his inventory, which might have gone bad otherwise. So we finally got our pizza, and we ate it in a house without power. It turned on an hour later. We cheered and turned (2 comments)

When we think and talk about the comforts and security of home, we take an awful lot for granted. We enjoy enormous luxuries unavailable to anyone, anywhere on this planet, at any time up until the last few generations. Storm Nemo is over, and the power is back on here at my house. 250,000 people across Massachusetts are still without power, most of them within 50 miles of me. Recovery efforts are in full gear and will bring most of us back on-line quickly. There are people living on Staten Island whose power still hasn't been restored two months after their disaster. Let 'er blow, Cap'n! The snow's started. The snow blower is fixed, gassed and oiled, with the hood cover on. The phones, flashlights and other devices are charged. There's food in the fridge. The office is closed. My clients are prepared, too. So we're ready for a great blizzard! This is what New England winters are all about. Just a normal weekend for the mountains of southwest Colorado, but here, it's a stay-cation! As long as the electricity stays on, the hot tub will be simmering away, waiting for us to plunge in and let the snow fall on our heads. (3 comments)
