I represented the buyers in their recent acquisition of their dream home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Set back on a long gravel driveway amid trees and well-tended, mature and professional landscaping, this home is a magnificent example of what sensible updating and an eye for creating open and flowing spaces can do for what was once a smaller and older home. A former garden center, the great room now sits where there was once a barn. Between the great room and the 3-car garage is an open room with high (6 comments)

The Pinehills is a community of homes set in the third-largest pine ecosystem in the world. In just over ten years, more than 1,700 homes have been built by a variety of builders. Each area has its own feel, its own style, and a slightly different package of amenities that come with the houses. At the center of the Pinehills is a golf course. Oh, that's right, THREE golf courses. Two of these are 18-hole courses at the Pinehills Golf Club, one designed by Rees Jones and the other by Nicklaus Golf. These are public, daily (7 comments)

The Standish Shores neighborhood is a private, quiet peninsula in Duxbury. Captain Myles Standish lived here, in an area that was known in the 1600s as the Nook. Now a monument to Captain Standish stands in the middle of a state park bearing his name on Standish Shores. The monument is visible to boats and helps mariners navigate the waters off Duxbury and Plymouth Bay. Standish Road forms a loop, connecting with Crescent Street. The other main road, Marshall Avenue, dead ends near the shoreline. Standish Road empties into the traffic circle at Hall's Corner. It occupies the (5 comments)

The Duxbury neighborhood of Tinkertown is an area on the southwest side of Duxbury. The area runs along both sides of Elm Street and Tobey Garden, north of Tremont Street, from Tremont Street up to the Route 3 overpass. Tinkertown was established in 1757. Many tinkers and other tradesmen, especially those serving the shipbuilding trade, lived here in years past. In the past few years, homes in this neighborhood have sold for prices between about $300,000 to $600,000. The Duxbury public schools start with Chandler Elementary School, then the Alden School, Duxbury Middle School and Duxbury High School. (0 comments)

8 Border St, Scituate This custom-designed, shingle style estate is an unusually attractive new home. The interior is still being completed, so except for the few kitchen photos below, I don't have photos of the inside yet. What is obvious is that the interior is stunning. The level of detail in the kitchen is extremely high. The rest of the home exudes outstanding craftsmanship and quality in every inch of this Falconi-built home. 8 Border Street, Scituate, is masterfully set in a private retreat. I am particularly fond of the view of the front lawn from the house. Looking (4 comments)
