The Pinehills is a community of homes set in the third-largest pine ecosystem in the world. In just over ten years, more than 1,700 homes have been built by a variety of builders. Each area has its own feel, its own style, and a slightly different package of amenities that come with the houses. At the center of the Pinehills is a golf course. Oh, that's right, THREE golf courses. Two of these are 18-hole courses at the Pinehills Golf Club, one designed by Rees Jones and the other by Nicklaus Golf. These are public, daily (7 comments)
The Powder Point neighborhood in Duxbury has two main roads that encircle the peninsula. King Caesar Road runs down the south side to the Gurnet Bridge, and Powder Point Avenue runs back along the north side toward the center of Duxbury. The Gurnet Bridge is often called the Powder Point Bridge, or even the Duxbury Bridge. It's the wooden bridge that leads from the end of Powder Point to the Duxbury Beach. Powder Point is entirely residential single-family homes. There are families here whose lineage goes back 11 generations to the Mayflower, Myles Standish and the (7 comments)
The Standish Shores neighborhood is a private, quiet peninsula in Duxbury. Captain Myles Standish lived here, in an area that was known in the 1600s as the Nook. Now a monument to Captain Standish stands in the middle of a state park bearing his name on Standish Shores. The monument is visible to boats and helps mariners navigate the waters off Duxbury and Plymouth Bay. Standish Road forms a loop, connecting with Crescent Street. The other main road, Marshall Avenue, dead ends near the shoreline. Standish Road empties into the traffic circle at Hall's Corner. It occupies the (5 comments)

The campus of the Duxbury Middle School and the Duxbury High School is on St. George Street, east of Tremont Street (Route 3A). For the moment, the High School is on one side of the street and the Middle School is on the other side, along with the playing fields and the Percy Walker swimming pool. In 2014, the new, and astonishing, co-located Middle and High School will open up for students on the same campus. The Duxbury High School is ranked #10 in Massachusetts by U.S. News. The Duxbury neighborhood of Tinkertown is an area on the southwest side of Duxbury. The area runs along both sides of Elm Street and Tobey Garden, north of Tremont Street, from Tremont Street up to the Route 3 overpass. Tinkertown was established in 1757. plymouth county: Flood zones, FEMA maps and Massachusetts flood insurance

Flood zones, FEMA maps and Massachusetts flood insurance There are a lot of scary stories floating around in the media these days about flood insurance and crazy increases in insurance premiums. Much of this is exaggerated because the media is into scaring and shocking people so they'll watch or read the news. Even a story like this one from the Boston Globe that tries to be balanced can, at this point, seem scary because people are either genuinely unsure about what will happen or flipping out about what they think is happening!
Still, this news needs your attention if you (5 comments)

plymouth county: Jordan hospital
- 09/19/13 01:26 AM
An attractive and sought-after area in Plymouth is the area around Jordan hospital, especially on the south side close to Chiltonville.
The view of the hospital here is from the main entrance, with the emergency room entrance around the left side. This entrance is reached from Sandwich Street. It is along Sandwich Street that you'll find many traditional New England homes, some of them lived in by generations of the same families, often in the same home, and perhaps just as frequently, in and around the neighborhood and other parts of Plymouth. While many things change in this world, (3 comments)

Homes for Sale in Morton Park, Plymouth Morton Park is a hidden gem in Plymouth. Just west of exit 6, with swift access to Route 3, a short, tree-lined road leads down to Morton Park Pond, where joggers, dogs and their humans, beach-goers and picnickers share the beach, paths and water. Children in Morton Park usually attend Cold Springs for elementary school, PCIS for middle school and Plymouth North High School. It's less than a mile down Summer Street to Plymouth center, an area whose description is often preceded by "historic". There are certainly days that commemorate Plymouth's past and its (6 comments)
