lanette branch: It's Time To Celebrate Our 2020 Grads
- 05/06/20 03:16 PM
I dedicate this post to my phenomenal daughter: Congratulations to all of the spring graduates who have worked so hard to reach this point. You have toughed it out for years, literally, and I am sorry that you are unable to celebrate your accomplishment the old fashioned way - sitting like sardines in a packed arena for hours on end, listening to (and laughing at) your school’s esteemed president or provost butchering graduates’ names by the dozens. However, you can rest assured that your achievement is impressive nonetheless! Go forth, graduates, and conquer the world. Perhaps you will be the ones to discover (1 comments)
I know what you’re saying: Lanette, Governor Hogan has declared us "free"; real estate is an essential business, and we agents can leave the house and go forth and sell, sell, sell to our heart’s content. What I am saying, however, is something else altogether: I suffer from asthma, I am allergic to every irritant known to man (and some not-so-well-known), and I’m old af. All of these factors add up to one inevitable conclusion - I ain’t going a damn place. Therefore, if the real-estating that buyers and sellers require of me can’t get done (3 comments)
lanette branch: Harford Glen: An Environmental Gem in Our Own Backyard
- 12/12/13 02:13 AM
Oh my, did I really write this post FIVE years ago?! Well, I had to pull it out of the archives, since baby girl #2 just left for Harford Glen yesterday. Although most of my post could remain the same, just a few updates are needed -- updates like, substitute The Sydster's picture for The Courtster's picture, Jonas Brothers for One Direction, mp3 player for iPod/iPad/iWhatevs, and Hannah Montana for...well, you get the point!

Yes, indeed! Our beloved Baltimore Ravens are headed to N'awlins and the town has literally turned purple. It's been fun snapping pics of the many "vignettes in purple" throughout the town. This latest one was spotted on my way home from picking up my daughter from school. Hilarious, don't cha think?
Glad I snapped the photo when I did since it was gone the next morning! Hope no one at the Harford County Government Office on Aging got in trouble for using the potty in public. Whoa, did I just say that out loud?
There are 427 active listings in Bel Air, Maryland (21014, 21015) and 125 under-contract listings. That's a heck of a lot of competition.
WHEN DECIDING WHERE TO LIST YOUR HOME FOR SALE, CONSIDER SOMEONE WITH PROVEN RESULTS WHO IS PASSIONATE ABOUT REAL ESTATE!

lanette branch: Back to the Basics
- 04/12/11 05:06 AM
It's back to the basics for me. There are some basic tools we learned to use in Real Estate 101 and now is the time to pull out the tool bag. Gotta check my arsenal. While it's true that the times they are a changin', it's also true that the basics of real estate are ever tried and true. Old school real estate transactions are still the way to go. There are a few tweaks here and there, yes- more sophisticated marketing for those listings (virtual tours, QR codes), phones that do everything just short of calling themselves (wait, I think (5 comments)

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I concur.
If I tell you how great my seller's home is, I just might pique your interest to find out more. However, if I show you how great that same home is...well, um...the possibilities are endless.
It's really all in the presentation, folks. It's the showing, the physical evidence of something quite fantastic. It's the kind of marketing that sets one listing agent apart from the rest. What I am outlining here is the (2 comments)
lanette branch: Yet Another Referral!
- 03/09/11 04:46 AM
I am truly loving ActiveRain! I Just received yet another referral from a fellow Rainer and I am too pleased. I've received so many referrals from AR that I've lost count (O.K., I'm exaggerating a little, since I do know how many - lots!). Anyways, just wanted to check in with a thumbs up for ActiveRain and all the awesome folks that make AR what it is. (1 comments)

lanette branch: ACME Supermarket Closing In February
- 01/12/11 05:02 AM
Woe is me. Just got the 'breaking news' via WMAR's notification to my BlackBerry a few days ago and I am truly distraught. The scoop is that ACME's Fallston, Maryland location - at the intersection of Belair Road and 152/Mountain Road - is set to close its doors by the end of February.
Since becoming the self-proclaimed Crazy Coupon Lady of Bel Air, ACME has been a true godsend for me and my family. The deals have been phenomenal.
Can't say that I'm at all surprised at the closing, though. The place truly looks like the land that (4 comments)
It's vicious out there. And surely you've heard: Buyer's Market, dear Seller An idea quite absurd. Homes are sitting for eons It's all in the News Today's 3 inch headline?
SELLERS SINGIN' THE BLUES
Information abounds On how you can sell: Mow the lawn, rake the leaves, Fix that pesky door bell. Paint the rooms, clear the clutter, Doggycare for Scruffy, Clean the carpets, lose the pictures (9 comments)
