The March Current Market Index for SW Florida was just released and it shows buyers are back in the game, for a couple of reasons. The first is buyers have gottem the message since January that prices are good and aaffordable, and they've responded. Secondly, bank owned foreclosures are hitting the market as many of the short sales just didn't pan out, and buyers are getting some great deals on homes, up to 75% off from market highs. The Florida Association of Realtors released their monthly home sales report today. Single family homes in Lee County sales were down 38% and median prices were down 9%. The January 2007 RE/MAX Showing Index for SW Florida real estate has been released. Showings have doubled since December, which is not surprising considering January is traditionally a much higher showing time due to season in SW Florida, and because showings are picking up in general. This week we had a property we three offers on it at same time, and it went for full price. This is not the first multiple offer situation this year for us, and yet it seems few and far between compared to a few years ago when everything had multiple offers on it.
