blog: How to link icons to your profile - 10/11/09 03:00 PM
In a recentl blog post I offered up some social media icons for use that were Active Rain themed.  There were some people who weren't quite sure how to use them.  So here's  a quick tutorial.
First you need to download the images to your computer.  Right click on the icon that you want and click save image as.  Name it something you will remember and save it somewhere you can find it. (I like using the desktop as a temporary place for images I'm going to work with quickly).

I decided to take a stab at creating some social media icons.  I like the bottle caps that Jeremy and Bob have been using but wanted to do something more specific to Active Rain.  So without further ado here they are:
You can link this as a blog subscription button or to your active rain profile.  It's pretty much universal.

blog: Upgrade Your Blog And Boost Your SEO For Free! - 01/23/09 12:01 PM
Well I've upgraded my blog again and it didn't cost me anything to add this custom little navigation header (unless you count my time and frustration) to the top of each post that links back to each individual post. I think it spices things up a bit! Plus the links should help with my SEO (correct me if I'm wrong here).
This is my second attempt to get this to look right. The first one was too wide and displayed funny on my outside blog. Now I think I have the width down so everything fits, that is until AR changes … (17 comments)

blog: 11 Lamest Blogs On The Net Revealed - 12/11/08 01:45 AM

Well thanks to PC World's tireless search we now have what are considered the 11 lamest blogs on the interenet. Thankfully I didn't make the list and neither did anyone else from Active Rain but it does give some good insight about the things people and corporations do on blogs that truly turn people off. If you're guilty of any of these it's annoying, so stop it!
