Consumers who agreed to participate in the survey provided the name of the real estate agent and rated that individual according to key criteria such as integrity, negotiation and closing preparation.
Surveys were sent to Houston region residents who recently purchased … (2 comments)

Your NEW Home - Get the Greatest Potential Return in Resale:
Lot size and location: The lot you select will determine a significant amount of the home’s future value.  Your choice should not be based on what the builder needs to sell but what gives you the best return on your investment and meets your individual needs.  Make your selection based on your personal choice and then let me assess it according to how it will appraise in resale in relation to other lots available. houston: Houston Metro: Model Metro - JOB GROWTH AND LOW COST OF LIVING! - 05/29/10 02:40 AM
This article below written by Joel Kotkin at Forbes Magazine, as it's title would imply, argues that Houston, Texas is a Model City.  More specifically, that the Houston Metro is a model Metro area (including League City, Clear Lake, and Friendswood!).
Now, to answer the critics that think this article may have been written by Houston insider, I say this:  people from Houston are Houstonians -- not Houstonites.  Anyone from around here knows that!  ;-)  The author, Joel Kotkin, is an internationally-recognized authority on global, economic, political and social trends.  Mr. Kotkin attended the University of California, Berkeley. League City Sales - # of Sales Down, Price Up
League City remains strong in price and sales are not much down over last year.  There were 68 sales in January 2009.  And only 62 in January 2010.  However, December of 2009 had 83 sales.  So we are over 25% down from December to January in number of sales.
The good news is that the sales dollar volume and the average and median price are all UP!
As an expert in Real Estate in the League City area, here's what this all means:
The more expensive homes are now selling.  The … (1 comments)

houston: Some Showing Services are Better Than Others - By a clear mile - 03/08/09 03:45 PM
Showing Center Services – waited on hold for 5 minutes and it took an additional 5 minutes to schedule the appointment because they had to set me up with an account. I had to spell my name, first and last, give my company name, spell it, give the city, spell it, give the state, zip code, my phone number, etc and the appointment didn’t get set up on the spot. They had to then call me back.
They are located in Pennsylvania. And I have no problem with good ole PA. My parents were born there. It’s beautiful. Hershey is there. … (3 comments)

houston: How Subjective are Appraisals? - 01/25/09 03:17 PM

Appraisals... just how subjective are they?
I had the recent pleasure of dealing with a 5 digit gap between appraisal and sales price.  My market research was thorough.  I know my market.  I know we got a bad appraisal in.
We got a second appraisor to go out and give a second opinion, but what I'm really wondering is - Should appraisors be allowed to listen to national media? I'm kidding, but I feel confident that the first guy was listening to too much doom and gloom on the national level or something.  I don't think I would have … (1 comments)
