Springtime and Spring Clean Up on the New Hampshire Seacoast By John Brackett
Here on the New Hampshire seacoast spring fever is one little April shower rainbow away from becoming a full blown epidemic. Weather aside, take a walk out your front door and get comfortable, don't worry about mosquitoes, aren't active yet. Let your feet touch the soft ground. Can you smell that earthy scent wafting about. Have you seen the Robins lately? The Red breasted Robin is aggressively searching out grubs and worms and meanwhile keeping an eye out for that special lady robin. Wild pussy willows … (1 comments)

Our community has once again come together to help those in need. Here's to putting our creative thinking skills to good use to keep the momentum of the market going and doing our … (0 comments)

Portsmouth, N.H. entices lovers with a rich maritime history with colonial architecture
Portsmouth, N.H. Wandering the streets in Down East Maine, it's hard to decide which village best captures the ideal New England fishing visage, because they all qualify. Yet there are no hamlets along the coastline that quite compare with Portsmouth, the peninsular city on the Maine border that combines rich maritime history with colonial architecture, as well as winding streets from Market Square to the South End. … (0 comments)

seacoast nh: But That was a Foreclosure........ - 02/20/10 05:43 AM

But That was a Foreclosure.......
Recently when discussing comparable sales with potential sellers I have been hearing the response, "but that was a foreclosure."  The fact that a recent listing or sale is a foreclosure does not make it irrelevant in determining the price of a property.
If the house for sale next door to you is a bank-owned home, but all the other homes for sale in the neighborhood are not, you don't have much of a problem. However, if most of the homes that have recently sold in your area were bank-owned homes and short sales, you … (2 comments)

What I Like about Stratham5. The view from Portsmouth Ave of the Scammon Farm.  The view is beautiful and calming on a busy day and now we don’t have to hold our breathe when we drive by.4. Choice of Grocery Shopping.  You really can’t beat it.  3. Friday nights----Blockbuster and Jade Palace take out.  Without fail I see three or four local familiar Stratham faces in the walk between the 2 places. 2. Subway tiles were big in 2009 in both kitchen and bathrooms. This year try using the subway tile vertically for a modern feel.

Also in 2010, go green with cork floors in the kitchen.

seacoast nh: Market Data for the Seacoast - 02/03/10 06:58 AM
Market data from the Seaocast Board of Realtors shows a decline in home sales for the month of January. Although the buyer tax credit was extended, the enthusiam isn't there as it was in the fall. Many buyers that I talk with now are casually looking but don't feel the need to get in before the deadline, they don't want to feel rushed into buying a home just to get the $8,000. There is a lack of urgency. I expect the influx of spring market listings will help bring buyers away from their computers and out at open houses and showings. … (0 comments)

PORTSMOUTH - Great Bay Kids' Company opened its doors for the first time Wednesday at its new Pease Tradeport location as program administrator Cathy DeWees, excitedly cried, "We've got babies!"
The new center is the third location operated by GBKC, a nonprofit organization providing child care for children age 6 weeks through preschool year-round, and through age 12 during its summer program.
