Driving down the highway on Tuesday minding my own business I saw vehicles pulled to the side of the road and smoke billowing up...surely it was an accident. Just then to my left from a side road came a blaring fire truck which nearly ran me off the road! IT WASN'T AN ACCIDENT! What it appeared to be was that someone threw a lit cigarette out the window and caused a fire along the highway. Thankfully it was only grass but there was plenty of brush not too far away. With the ground still wet and puddles all around from the most recent heavy rain it is a rewarding treat to catch such a beautiful sunset. In the movie Walking Across Egypt there is a line that says something like, Just before dark as the sun goes down there is a moment when time stands still, this was that moment!

The springtime here in Ocala brings carpets of these beautiful flowers that are no bigger than a quarter but are absolutely breathtaking! I love the detail and the contrast of colors, just so beautiful. When the wind blows, which is quite a bit this time of year, they just ruffle like a field of wheat. I really believe that God speaks to us through nature to let us know how good He really is. If He cares for the flowers how much more does He care for you. … (22 comments)

It's spring in Florida and I'm planting my garden, I love the contrast of orange marigolds against fire red salvia with a background of vibrant green leaves. Does a contrast like this work in your home, and especially when you are selling? I'm no decorating expert but I do know when a home is so shocking and not complimentary causing buyers to be repelled. Paint matters! If you are planning to sell your home be aware of what will appeal or repel buyers. Yesterday was the second and last day of the 2 year old sale at Ocala Breeders Sales, an auction where the horses are sold off. We walked through the various consignment barns and looked at all the beautiful horses. The Cooperative Extension in Ocala had a wonderful spring festival today, plenty of plants, flowers and gardening tips. We sat in on some classes and walked from row to row, I'll take one of each thank you! The thing I wanted the most was Muscadine grapevines. Have you ever had Muscadine Grape Juice? It is the best grape juice I've ever had...EVER! The beautiful flowers below are just a sample of what we got to see today. Oh I just love spring!
Its amazing how different gardening is in Florida compared to NY but I enjoy to garden regardless!

This beautiful sunflower started to open yesterday and is in full bloom today. I just love it! One of the birds that raided my vegetables during the summer must have dropped it. As Is Addendums: This is where the bank covers themselves, and understandably so. Remember in Mrs Doubtfire when the one nanny comes in and scolds the child with I don't do homework, windows, cook yadah yadah? The reaction on the child's face was near terror.
