 WalletHub has published a national report, “2016’s Best Small Cities in America”. Analysts examined 1,268 cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 and made an assessment using 30 key indicators of livability. Those indicators range from “housing costs” to “school-system quality” to “number of restaurants per capita”.
Given the large sample of cities ranked in this study, WalletHub grouped cities in percentiles, with a 99th percentile representing the top 1 percent of small cities in America.

TXDOT PRESS RELEASE  ~ "The Texas Department of Transportation will begin the demolition and reconstruction of the new at-grade intersection at Bay Area Blvd. To complete the work, a total closure of the north and southbound main lanes of I-45/Gulf Freeway at Bay Area Blvd. will take place the weekend of February 26.
 
Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, February 26 through 5 a.m., Monday, February 29, the I-45 northbound and southbound main lanes at Bay Area Blvd. will be closed.

City of Friendswood Communications ~ “The website “NeighborhoodScout.com” has named Friendswood one of the Safest Cities in America-2016. Friendswood was ranked 44, second highest in Texas (behind number 43, Keller) and highest in the greater Houston area.
 
Neighborhood Scout’s ranking is based on cities with 25,000 or more people, based on the total number of property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
 
For the last five years, Friendswood has an average rank of 42 in the Neighborhood Scout data.
