As is my custom 4 times per year, I have compiled the Durango comparative real estate statistics for 2016 vs 2015 for the 1st 6 months of each year. Overall sales volume is almost unchanged this year compared to last but the 2 price brackets with increases in number of units sold this year are the $200,000-$400,000 and the $400,000-$600,000 price ranges. Unfortunately that is also where the largest decrease in available units has occurred consequently I would expect to see rising prices in those 2 "sweet spots". Durango Real Estate  1st Quarter Sales Results
We have finished compiling the 1st quarter Durango (all of La Plata County actually) real estate statistics where we compare the 2014 results to those from 2013 for the same time period.  Unless otherwise noted, all statistics are for residential properties only.
Although at The Wells Group our sales volume is up year-to-date, across the entire MLS, the total residential sales volume actually declined this year from $60.3 million to  $55.8 million.  That represented a decline of 7.45%.  The average sales price, however increased from $357,000 to $362,730 which was a 1.57% increase.  Similarly, … (1 comments)

This past week The Wells Group Real Estate Brokerage presented its 14th annual Real Estate Forecast discussing in depth the Durango Real Estate Market. With approximately 300 people in attendance at the Fort Lewis College Community Concert Hall, our firm, along with Bob Allen (real estate consultant and senior appraiser with Allen and Associates) gave a presentation that included video, live discussion as well as a PowerPoint presentation.
