social media: Make the time to use social media - 07/08/16 11:49 AM
Make the time to use social media.  It's easy and free.  Yes, there are some parts of social media sites that you may have to pay for, but for the most part you do not need them anyway.  As a realtor there is no reason not to because everyone else is, especially millennials.
From what I can tell most agents out there are baby boomers, so they may be reluctant to get out there and learn something new for whatever reason.  Trust me though.  It's nothing like programming a VCR.  The important sites like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook require nothing more … (2 comments)

social media: Social Media Trumps Print in Real Estate Advertising - 12/05/12 04:26 AM
Social media in real estate advertising works. I am not ashamed to say that when interviewing for a property listing and I am asked about my sources of advertising I am not against highlighting social media and downplaying print.  Although I include because that is what the public wants to hear, I am not afraid to inform my customers that print is largely dead.
Does it hurt my chances of getting the listing or of my clients thinking any less of my advertising prowess?  Absolutely not.  If anything, they want to know why and for me to explain my advertising strategy.  … (0 comments)

social media: Nothing Wrong With Asking For A Recommendation - 11/19/12 12:00 AM
And don't be shy about it either.  One of the first things I do after I close a deal is to personally ask my clients if they would recommend me in writing for the job that I have done for them.  You would be surprised at how many actually don't mind and take the time to do so.  And although there may be a few that are too lazy to write a letter, I simply ask them to write something short and sweet on Yelp or Trulia, for instance.

After years of collecting these letters I make good … (2 comments)

social media: Boring Internet Statistics Not So Boring Afterall - 04/17/12 01:30 AM

I have always been influenced and thoroughly convinced that the internet is indeed the way to locate, help, and communicate with real estate consumers today.  However, in order to know how to do so we have to break them down into four categories; Seniors, which comprise 32% of actual homesellers, Baby Boomers, who comprise the average age of today's homeseller, Generation X, who are very tech savvy and incredibly brand loyal, and finally, Generation Y, who are today's first time homebuyers.  Their loyalty, however, is suspect.
It has been proven that 84% of consumers use a realtor to sell, but … (3 comments)

social media: Help! I'm on the Social Media Scene and I Can't Shut Up - 03/19/12 04:48 AM
Has the social media scene taken over our lives?  I can remember a not so long time ago that print was the way to go in order to get yourself promoted as a realtor.  Today, it seems as if print is essentially dead.  It does nothing for me in terms of generating leads.
Like a lot of other realtors nationwide I am everywhere and contribute to the social scene on a daily basis.  But it seems to me that like the rest of the world, I have become addicted to this stuff and come to rely on it to not … (0 comments)

social media: Success Because of the Rain - 09/15/11 08:17 AM
This is my Activerain success story. Recently I was offered a position with Miami Agent Magazine as their featured blogger. This is a clear indication of the impact I am having with social media on the internet. This type of exposure will lead to, well, more leads. I have also been interviewed this week by Realtor Magazine and will be published in their next print magazine. This is all proof that blogging and other forms of social media do work. These two magazines found me because of my internet presence and Activerain blogs. No, these may not be buyers or sellers, … (6 comments)
