ActiveRain - 5  Tips Guaranteed to Jumpstart Your ActiveRain Blog

Blog! Blog! Blog!  If I had a dollar for every time somebody asked my what's the big deal about ActiveRain and blogging I'd be super rich! I joined ActiveRain back in Dec of 2006 and stayed exactly on square one (did nothing) until November of 2008.

real estate blogging: Looking Forward to More Blessed 2013! - 12/25/12 10:55 PM
Christmas has passed by and we have been thrilled by the season. We have celebrated the Savior’s nativity with family and friends. Gift-giving, shopping, and merry-making are on top of everyone’s activity aside from the usual church activities we have!

The cool blows of the Yuletide winds are not yet over. With 5 more days before 2012 comes to an end, let us be more optimistic that the coming year will be full of more blessings – both for our personal and professional lives. We should be thankful for what the closing year had brought us, even if there are … (2 comments)

real estate blogging: Red Curtains Were Down! Caught in Intermission! - 12/19/12 09:06 AM

Have you ever experienced posting your blog entry or perhaps submitting a comment when suddenly red curtains rolled down? Well, I’m talking of the Intermission that ActiveRain imposes whenever fixes to bugs and updates of any sort are implemented on the platform. During these times, members cannot perform their usual tasks nor can anyone view the blogs inside the platform.

This was the very same instance that happened to me 19th of December on the AR platform. I was about to drop a comment for Suesan’s blog about writing bad posts. I knew that I had written the comment, … (4 comments)

real estate blogging: It’s Good to be Back - 12/16/12 01:41 PM

After several weeks of hiatus here in ActiveRain, it feels so good to be back. I have missed quite a lot during my absence particularly those blog posts that were meaty and juicy with information. (I’ve been into a lot of readings like I am reviewing for a near examination!)

One of the posts that I enjoyed reading upon return was Kathleen Daniel’s Etiquette for Active Rain Reblogging. As one who re-blogs other posts once-in-a-while, I have to agree with her. Re-blogging does not make the post ours because the whole content is reproduced to appear under our blog. … (4 comments)

real estate blogging: Revisiting my Stats as a 9-month Rainer - 09/30/12 09:52 AM

The month of October marks my 9th month as a Rainer. I’d be a new-born child if ActiveRain is a mother! Seriously speaking, my journey as a realtor and blogger is filled with many trials - hectic schedules, finding leads, dealing with sometimes difficult-to-handle clients, and battling with occasional writer’s blocks.
To date, I’ve got 1646 profile views – not that big as compared to the monstrous views that AR veterans might have. I have 62, 142 points gathered from blog posts, comments, and other point-bearing activities under the rain.
As per my rankings, I am very happy to see … (0 comments)

real estate blogging: Do You Feel Guilty When You Have Not Posted on ActiveRain? - 09/01/12 09:22 PM

ActiveRain has become a formidable instrument to increase traffic to my site. It brings lead, clients, connections, and allies. Blogging in this platform has been part of my real estate endeavors for the past months. However, at times I fail to post a blog entry due to some other matters that I have to do.

Whenever instances like this occur, I used to feel guilty and frustrated. Thoughts such as irresponsibility run on my mind. There were even contemplations that seem to be difficult to resolve combined with the lack of inspiration to write.
ActiveRain is such a wonderful … (5 comments)

real estate blogging: Blog posts that left imprints on my mind - 08/29/12 09:29 AM
The ActiveRain community is blessed to have members representing various forms of expertise. While most of us may be real estate professionals, there are those that are stagers, decorators, fixers, SEO campaign wizards, so on and so forth. The unique writing styles and the specific niches represented by each and every member makes each day of reading posts an excit8ing one because there are certainly blog posts that will leave imprints on our minds.

For the past days until today, here are some blog posts from the ActiveRain family that made their unique marks on my sometimes sedentary brain. They … (2 comments)

real estate blogging: Few SEO Tactics to Increase Web Visibility - 08/19/12 11:51 PM

As promised, I will share some SEO tactics, of which some of you might already be familiar while others are not. It is a visibility game in the cyberspace today. To be noticed is the ultimate goal of everyone because it really matters to be successful – especially in an industry like real estate.

A common tactic employed by majority of real estate agents, brokers, and other professionals is the maintenance of niche-related blogs. Some own one while others keep two or more. This is because different blogs have different mechanisms. They are also treated differently by search engines, … (2 comments)

real estate blogging: SEOBook, Page Ranks, and your website - 08/18/12 06:35 PM

The internet is a very rich reservoir of free tools that can help anyone from kids to adults. While surfing the internet earlier, I came across a tool that really caught my attention. It’s a browser plugin that readily displays the page ranking of a certain website you are visiting.

I became curious of how well my website is doing on the search engines. I gave SEOBook a shot and downloaded it within seconds. I proceeded to its installation which prompted me to restart Firefox as soon as the installation was finished.

It became an integral part of … (6 comments)

real estate blogging: Other blogger’s blogs, blog commenting and following - 08/15/12 05:03 PM

A common practice among Rainmakers is to follow the blogs of fellow bloggers and drop off some comments. While this is a conscious act of letting the blogger know that there is someone who finds his or her post useful, there are a handful of other benefits that blog following give to the follower himself.

One such benefit is the establishment of connections. Everyone needs to widen his network. A comment can lead to a back comment, to back link, and obviously elevation into the higher ranks of elite Rainmakers.

Taking the concept out of ActiveRain, are there … (42 comments)
