los altos hills: It's the economy stupid - 2009 redux - 11/02/09 06:25 AM
There were a flurry of positive economic reports in today's news including these tidbits:- The pending home sales index rose 6.1% in September, 20% higher than September 2008- Construction spending rose .8% in September driven by the strength in home buildingHere are two reports on those figures:http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aBMmrE9wsFKchttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33583946/ns/business-stocks_and_economy/So what does this mean for the local market? Continued strength in sales and pricing with less erosion, lower inventory, and faster sales. Here's the inventory picture for 2009 vs. 2008 as of this morning:
So in general, the overall market is stronger this year and even month-over-month as the economy continues to build strength. … (2 comments)

los altos hills: Los Altos Hills moves forward with annexation - 10/22/09 09:39 AM
Los Altos Hills is moving ahead with annexing two more areas, La Loma Drive and Hidden Villa. Both have been on the city's radar for annexation for a long time without the stigma of being "county land."  Many developers like the premise of being in the county versus the town because the county has more liberal development criteria and puts up fewer design review roadblocks when obtaining planning approval and permits.
I think this is a great move on the part of Los Altos Hills. One question I get from prospects and clients is, "will this improve or reduce the value of … (0 comments)
