georgetown tx parks: Georgetown TX Goodwater Loop Trail - 06/28/10 06:50 AM
One of the great things about Georgetown is the local hike and bike trail system. The City maintains a several trails that essentially begin at San Gabriel Park. From here you can take the South fork trail to the downtown area and visit the square for shopping or dining or continue to follow the trail to Blue Hole swimming area. 
For those a bit more energetic, The North fork of the San Gabriel river trail will take from the San Gabriel park all the way to the Dam at Lake Georgetown. From there you can visit several LCRA parks or connect to the Goodwater trail, a 26 mile trail around the lake.

While researching a new listing, I discovered one of Georgetown's best kept secrets, Berry Springs Park and Preserve. It opened October 2005 and is hidden just east of Georgetown off County Road 152.
The park is utilized for passive recreational activities and features playgrounds, barbecue grills, picnic tables and pavilions which can be rented. Berry Springs provides a fresh water lake for fishing. There are camp sites and hike and bike trails which may eventually be connected to the Georgetown park and receration trails. The park has a large, serene pecan grove with stately Pecan and Oak trees. There are clean restrooms.
