help: Help save our Senior Center....February 17th.

I blogged before about the complete funding cut for the North Branch/Chisago County Minnesota senior center.
The workers for the center have done a lot of fund raising over the years, and now the county and city say they will not fund the center.
This center is not only for the seniors, but for the public. It irks me that we can keep giving to the illegals, but when it comes to our seniors who have worked hard over the years to build this country get penalized because of budget shortfalls, but other programs go on for people here that are … (3 comments)

KABOOM!!!!!! Well, almost. It was quieter than that. My PC crashed. I got the ThinkPoint maleware and it locked everything up. A trip to my uncle, and 4 hours later, and I am up and running.
He did explain to me that my system was just short of being an antique. (It should be worth more then)

Another good guy will bite the dust this weekend. 42 and never married! The guy had it made. He never had to Mow the grass..just because! He never had to prove he actually went FISHING! He didn't have to worry about leaving the seat up on the toilet.
How can I help him see the error in judgment he is about to make.
I think I have it!!! A little gift just before the Bachelor party! I am going to send him a 'Mother-in-law" Dressed in flannel PJ's and a Mud pack to boot.

help: Is it just me, or is everyone asking for money...

I have seen my junk mail more than double in volume in the last few months. Most of it is organizations asking for money. I have seen a huge shift to out of the country sponsors. Now I do what I can to help several organizations, but sending to places that are not even centered here in the states is risky.
I have gone to helping more of the local groups. I have found that by doing so, my name stays off the mailing lists and more of my money goes for the intended use. (Less overhead). There is a real … (9 comments)

Good morning everyone. I was contacted by phone by a company from San Fransico, Ca. They are Called Agent Machine. I was asked if I would consider a referral. No upfront fees or Long term contract, just the referral fee if closing happens.
This sounds legit, BUT...with all the scams in the world I have my guard up.
I would greatly appreciate any feed back.

I am a self proclained NON-GEEK. I fight with my computor and lose most every time. Right now I am having, for about the last 10 days, a real slow down in the speed when I am on AR. The other sites I go on are a bit slower at times, but, nothing like AR. Is anyone else having any kind of issue like this.
Just to giva an idea. When I log in, it will take 2 min to get to my home instead of 15 seconds. Click on Blogs, and I wait another min instead of 5-10 seconds. … (11 comments)

A friend near Green Bay WI, is buying a home and there is a well problem. Seller, said..."No Problem, we'll Escrow".
The Bank said..."NO WAY HOSAE!" Not allowed. The closing has been postponed until the work is completed.
Now I have not run across anything like this yet. Someone tried to tell me it was a new law, but I have not heard of that either. Has anyone else run into this?

We all have those stresses in our lives where nothing you do seams to make things better. The worse things get the harder you try to change them, the more the problem seams to resist. Then, all of a sudden every waking moment is consumed by the problem.

Ok, this is a stretch. Being a "Man", we don't ask for directions and we don't ask for help. So Guys, do for give me.
My current Cell provider is discontinuing the service. (Qwest) They are teaming up with Verizon. I have checked into many plans and the costs vary greatly. But my biggest concern is area of coverage. Most of the major companies boast that they have the best.
So my question is...Who are you using? Are they as good for coverage as they say? Is the cost comparable to most other major companies?

Buckthorn was imported from Europe in the 1800's as a hedgeing material. this shrub quickley started to get out of hand. It looks to be real inviting for the local birds because of the berries it produces, but, it is not a favorite of the birds. In fact it is more of a last choice.

There are a lot of sites out the on the web that are tauting RENEWABLE energy. Does anyone have a suggestion or had a good experience with ony of them. I have a client looking to adapt his new purchase with some wind and solar, and I am thinking about looking into it also. Local area would be best, but very open. In the past few weeks It seema that every ad I place in my local paper, I get 3-4 calls from out-of -state advertisers wanting me to put the ad in their publication. I thought it was strange to start with but it is getting annoying. Othe than telling them to take me off their list not much can be done with it...anyone else haveing this kind of problem?

I have a client that is looking at a small business purchase, which includes the Real Estate. He is thinking of a Small Business Admin loan. In our small town, no one wants to talk that kind of loan. Some have said that if you qualify for the SBA loan, you will qualify for a regular Business loan. This is one I have not dealt with before. We are in the Minnesota market, anythoughts on this would be great. Thanks.
