minnesota: It is Winter in Minnesota!

OK it isn't really winter, but feels like fall.
Tody it was only 62 out with light rain off and on.
Not so unusual, but humorous as people complained last week when it was 90+.
So typical for the human animal.
We are hard to satisfy and quick to complain.
But, I would be hard pressed to find a better place to live.

Looking for land in North Branch, Minnesota?
Usually this is a tough time of the year.
Deep snow makes it hard to walk and look around.
But this year, with only a few inches on the ground it is a GREAT time! Walking is very easy. The small amount of snow gives you an idea of what kind of wildlife abounds on the property.
No leaves on the trees allows you to see a lot of the land from a distance.
This year, right now is a great time to look for all kinds of land easily.

North Branch Minnesota homes are selling fast.
Nice homes can be gone in 2 weeks and in days if in great condition.
North Branch is a great area to live. WE are easy driving to the twin cities for work and rasing a family or retireing it is a great place to end the day.

North Branch, Minnesota is what we call a bedroom community.About 75% of the people commute to work each day.
Many do their shopping on the way home and hardly know what the town is about.
North Branch is a great little town with some great mom and pop stores.
Like it when people know your name...North Branch, Minnesota may be th eplace for you!.

Hunters, you don't need to drive a long ways to find good hunting.
The North Branch Minnesota area has a lot of great hunting.
Turkey's and Deer are two of the best quarry's, with water fowl a close 3rd.
Although Not a lot of avaiable land right now, it does come available on occasions and if you are interested...I need to know NOW!
Remember...North Branch, Minnesota area is prime hunting area.
Hey, the fishing isn't bad either....

The rest of the world jsut needs to catchup.
So to help the world...read and learn...
Boot: What you wear when cleaning out the barn.
Byte: What those darn black flys do.
Chip: Munchies for the TV!
Microchip: What's in the bottom fo the bag of the munchie chips.

minnesota: A day at the Duluth, Mn Zoo.

Sadly, my camera got dropped and the only lens I had with was broken.
But, if you visit the northern part of Minnesota to see the largest Great Lake, Lake superior...Stop in at the zoo.
It isn't large, but they have a great set up to see the animals in a natural surrounding.
This Zoo is a great size to take small kids to. Not to big so they don't get tired out before the enjoyment is done.

It is a beautiful day today in North Branch, Minnesota.
25 degrees and...
Yes SNOWING!
North Branch was to get 3-6 inches be the Wednesday morning.
We have almost 5 and is is barely 10 am, and snow is falling at about an inch an hour or more right now.
Not complaining.
It is only mid Marchand we are supposed to have snow.
Neighbors are calling already asking to be plowed out in the morning so they can go to work.Hopefully the roads will be plowed by then.

Some of the local gardeners are talking planting during the morning coffee sessions.
I enjoy my garden, but I am no where near the fanatic as these guys are.
Of course if you want to talk fishing, well that is another story.
When I asked when they thought they would start planting with nearly 4 feet of snow on the ground one of the said...About 6 weeks ago.
Yes, the die hard's have started many plants already.
Me, I will go to them and buy a few for my needs. Hey, they are the best stuff around!

minnesota: Bass Fishing Opener in Minnesota was better than hoped for!

This is the scene that greeted me at 4:45 Sat. Morning. I had already boated 2 Bass and took a second to to take this picture. I was still the only boat in site. HEAVEN!!!
The 3rd Bass of the morning was very nice 18 incher. I had caught a lot of Bass last year but none this big to my disappointment.
This Bass weighed in at 3.5 pounds. Back into the water it went to produce a catch for me some years in the future.

I had coffee with a good friend the other day. He had a relative from down south somewhere with him. We talked an laugh for a while and then this guy says. " I Love your Accent!"
WHAT, I am from Minnesota and I DO NOT have an accent! If you want to here an accent listen to yourself! (Ha, told him!)
What we do have is a very distinguished life style that most people would kill to have. SOME EXAMPLES...

minnesota: Major Snow Storm makes many people say the same thing!

Minnesota and Wisconsin have been hit with an above average Snow Storm. START THE SNOWMOBILES!!! For drivers it can be a major headache trying to get to where ever they need to be. Many of these drivers will mistakenly think that driving into the ditch is a good idea.
With that being said, there was a study done about people who left the road...
Statistics show...
98% of Americans say "Oh Shit" before going in the ditch off of a slippery road.
The Remaining 2% are from Minnesota, they say..."Here, Hold my beer and watch this!!!

I am not worried about you falling and getting hurt. Nor am I afraid you will get lost. It is hunting season and I am worried that you will walk around out in the woods wearing a brown coat and look like this...
To a hunter that is a distance away. True...a hunter should not shoot unless he is sure of the target, BUT, do you want to take that chance? Many people are in the woods, some where they don't belong or have permission. That includes the walkers and the hunters alike.

An early season snow storm has hit the North Branch area.
The area was blanketed with from 1/4-3/8 of an inch of snow! WHAT! Snow Snow Storm?
OOPS! Wrong Picture...
OK, That's more like it. Although, to listen to the people around here, you would think we couldn't drive this morning.
Yup, it got down into the mid 20's last night and I had to kick in the outdoor wood stove...
Sure, we did get some frost on our pumpkins...
And it makes for some great photo ops...(If I only knew how to take great pictures)...
