north branch home buying in the winter months: And a snowy month is ahead.
- 03/03/19 06:35 PM
Minnesota has had one of the snowiest February's in history. And we are just going into one our months with the most snowfall. I do not have a lot of room to put the snow. The picture shows the snow banks so far and they will only grow taller. I just wonder what the flooding will be like at this point.

north branch home buying in the winter months: Dog owners...
- 02/02/19 05:15 PM
Well, I am hearing all kinds of stories because of the cold weather. They are the same as every year. We humans have very short memories. WE many times forget the weather from a day or two ago. So this aimed at dog owners... I am assuming that this is very true!

north branch home buying in the winter months: A winter funny.
- 02/01/19 05:48 PM
Well with the cold many of my friends are heading south for a get away. One couple has never left town in 25 years. For me, I am happy right here. Yes it is cold. Yes I am working hard to keep warm. But you know what...I feel really good about every aspect of my life in this sometimes brutal area. But, we don't have so much over crowding either!

north branch home buying in the winter months: Today I start playing catch up.
- 02/01/19 04:00 AM
The weather is going back to mild. And the buyers are starting to stir again. Above temps for the weekend. Several clients wanting to see homes and a RARE open house. And then if I can, I will sneak in some work around the home before the next cold snap. Plus, a few HONEY DO! items I need to get done. Looks like the weekend is full. Still dreaming of spring flowers.

north branch home buying in the winter months: The polar vortex is upon us.
- 01/29/19 10:01 AM
Well, per scientist the polar vortex is here. And it is here to stay in a way. Scientists say we should get used to these temps. Makes me wonder about the global warming then. Who should we believe? The scientists who can't predict yesterday's weather...Or... Al Gore? I guess it is a flip of the coin.

- 01/27/19 07:41 PM
I'm dreaming of a...Spring Flower! Yes, I don't mind the cold and snow but... I am looking forward to spring and soft water fishing. I may be dreaming early but why not. Gives me something to look forward to. So, back to shoveling the new snow and I can dream another.

north branch home buying in the winter months: Maybe the seller will agree to it.
- 12/15/18 05:08 AM
My client said, BUY! They loved the home and didn't want to lose it. But, they really didn't want to move in the winter. "Would the sellers wait until April to close?" Well I responded, we can ask. Buyers had already sold their home and were living with parents. Sellers were older and said they would love to wait until spring. You never know unless you ask! Snow is going away. Great time to move!

north branch home buying in the winter months: It has happened once more.
- 11/30/18 02:57 AM
And it has happened again. Hi Bill, We love the house. WE want to make an offer. WE will offer them 10% below what they are asking. Now I have counseled these buyers for several weeks. I have also told them that their Uncle may be thinking he is helping them but he really is not. "The market is slowing down so now is a good time to low ball." I wrote the contract. There was 4 other offers. The listing agent is a good friend. He agreed to send a note saying the status of their offer. Thank You for your offer. Sorry, but it was the only offer below the

north branch home buying in the winter months: Are you ready for next winter?
- 03/09/18 10:38 AM
Ok, I may be jumping the gun a bit. But right now is when you remember the things that should have been done before this winter hit. Now is the time to start fixing or at the least start a list of what needs to be done. If you burn wood now is a great time to start gathering some for next winter. Now is a great tie to buy some of the things you need for the winter as many items are on clearance. Prepare now, before the weather looks like this again!

north branch home buying in the winter months: Search only Legit sites...
- 01/26/18 08:50 PM
I got a call tonight about a property on the market. As I talked with he caller I was searching. And I searched and searched. Finally, not finding the listing I asked what site they had found the listing. zillow. Well, I then searched in a new direction and in a minute I found the listing... SOLD over a year before! I explained to the caller that the home was sold over a year ago. The caller did not want to believe me. The conversation went on for a few more minutes and we connected and will re-connect early net week. If you are looking for a home and want to search yourself,

north branch home buying in the winter months: Global warming...Does the East coast believe?
- 01/07/18 04:04 PM
There is always a lot of talk about the Global Warming issue. And every year at this time somewhere people are questioning the validity of it. The argument rages on day after day after day. The believers are very strong there is and the nay-sayers are very strong there isn't. There is only one real truth...

north branch home buying in the winter months: There are many sayings as to how cold it is.
- 01/07/18 03:17 PM
Over the years I have heard a lot of descriptions of the cold. One of my favorites is that it is cold enough to freeze the Balls off of a brass monkey. Another is I saw 2 Cottentails pushing a Jack Rabbit trying to get him to start. This picture is another one... What are your favorites.

north branch home buying in the winter months: Winter storm in the East.
- 01/04/18 08:47 PM
Listening to the weather tonight I heard about the blizzard on the east coast. They are getting hammered. I wonder how many people were ready for the onslaught. Most people would be hard pressed to make it a few hours. No mater how many times they go through it. For me, I would welcome a good storm. I have water enough to drink, wash and flush if need be for 8-10 days. I have a generator that is full of gas and tested to run the 1st of every month. It does not take a lot to be somewhat prepared, it just takes the effort! Snow like this barely slows

north branch home buying in the winter months: 10 inches and counting.
- 11/04/17 09:19 PM
North Branch, Mn has seen all of 10+ inches of snow already this November. That is about 9 inches above normal. Make one wonder if it will continue or is it just a quick faze Mother Nature has for us. At any rate, most of it is almost gone, yer many people are complaining. Maybe some people need to move south!

north branch home buying in the winter months: Not everyone was happy with out snowfall
- 10/29/17 07:31 PM
I blogged about the snow the other day. Well, not everyone was happy with the snow or it's characters. So when I saw this I understood the feelings of many of my neighbors. As for me, I don't mind but I keep those feelings to myself so that I stay healthy.

north branch home buying in the winter months: Big or Small?
- 03/08/17 04:09 PM
I have been posed this question as of late. Which is better to use. Here is my take... As a small independent Broker, I can and do give great personal service. I know my listings intimately. My clients are not just a number. When I see a new client, it will not be the only time we meet, I am the only person they will see. I am a FULL MLS Realtor and I can see every detail and listing that the big boys and girls do. So I pose the question back to the person asking... Do you want to be a number, or do want someone who remembers your name? The choice is yours!!!!

north branch home buying in the winter months: Not much snow in Minnesota!
- 02/09/17 03:37 PM
North Branch, Minnesota does not have much snow. I even see grassy spots in my lawn. Many snow day festivals have had to cancel activities. A big cross country ski race that will try to take place looks doubtful. Then A friend told me he had 2 feet of snow in his town. NO WAY I told him. I guess I was wrong

north branch home buying in the winter months: Buyers...are you missing the boat?
- 02/05/17 03:53 PM
I see many buyers deciding to wait until spring to start looking. Many of these are the same ones that lost out in multiple offers all last year. I just sold 2 hoes this week and will write tomorrow on another one. The perfect house may be out there right now and there is very little competition. Want the perfect house and not have to fight for it? Start looking now...it could be out there. Many sellers will give extended closing dates!!!

north branch home buying in the winter months: North Branch, Minnesota buyers...listen up!!!
- 02/03/17 07:53 PM
North Branch, Minnesota buyers listen up. There is an influx of listings right now. The buyer pool is low but people are still buying and trying to sell. No is a great time to get into the mix while others sloop. That great deal may be found and bought without multiple offers .` These will be popular again in the spring!
