Well, last year we had major snow in April and
as it looks now we will get hit once again in April.
I have put away my shovels and took the plow off of my truck.
I will take the shovels out of storage, but I am not sure about the plow on the truck.
At least it is going to warm soon after.
BE patient and it will get better fast.

Yes the pressure is off of the rodent.
Spring is well on it's way.
It has unfortunately happened over night and that has caused a lot of damage.
And, we are not out of the woods as of yet.
So those in the flood areas, Please be safe.
It is a dangerous time right now.

Honesty is very important.
Your reputation can be made or destroyed with a single statement.
But, many have not been so trustworthy.
Some just seem to guess without any real proof of their statements.
A dis-honest statement can ruin a day for many others also.
So, make sure you are honest with what you say as your reputation depends on it!

Yes, Minnesota in most places has broken the snow fall record for February.
And we are not done yet.
People are getting upset with the snow.
But those that embrace the winter are really enjoying it
But not all are happy with it,

It is the cam before the next storm, which is due on Wednesday.
Not all the big, 4-5 inches is predicted.
Not so bad but for those who can't get around it is major.
Many older people and those with health issues have a hard time
removing the snow from driveways and sidewalks.
Be a stellar citizen and help these people out!
These guys need the help|!

WE are seeing record snow for February.
It is the 4th snowiest on record with only a few inches to be number one,
In some ways I like to break records, but part of me says this is enough.
Walking bare land is very difficult as the snow is above the knees.
So, I will just take what we get!

Well, you need to be careful of what you ask for.
We needed some snow for insulating the ground.
So in the last week we have had 2 good amounts of snow.
The forecast is for 2-3 storms that will drop another 12-16 inches if
we get the direct hit they are talking about,
So, yes, we must be careful of what we ask for!

The weather is going back to mild.
And the buyers are starting to stir again.
Above temps for the weekend.
Several clients wanting to see homes and a RARE open house.
And then if I can, I will sneak in some work around the home before the next cold snap.
Plus, a few HONEY DO! items I need to get done.
Looks like the weekend is full.
Still dreaming of spring flowers.

Surviving the severe cold was not hard.
1st we put 30 gals of water in 5 gal. pails for non-drinking water.
We had 5 gal of drinking water plus some individual bottles.
Plenty of easy to make food.
Extra propane tanks (2)
I heat with wood or gas. Enough wood to last the winter
and enough gas for 3 weeks.
Generator.
Kept in a warm shop and tested every month.
The outside boiler is set to be plugged in so that the pumps circulate
hot water to the house.
I have 2 200 ft extension cords and 2 100 ft ones.
I can plug in the freezers and refrigerators if needed.

There are a lot of activities going on.
Many require some degree of cold. Ice and snow sculptures for one.
But I hear many complaining about what their next heating bill will be like.
Some got an extra day off. Kids are off of school so it becomes a family day.
Others complain that they lose some pay or that their cars won't start.
And one more that does not like the cold and snow...

It is turning cold here in Minnesota.
Some of the coldest temps in many years.
Even with Propane at a low price I am still saving
over $1000 a month.
Yes, I spend a lot of time in the woods, but I don't need
to spend money on a health club!
Bring on the cold!

It can't be said enough...
Take care of the outside pets and farm animals.
One area that people have a misconception is water.
Water is very important for pets to stay warm. (goes for people also)
Some say they can eat snow.
Yes, but the body has to warm that snow and there is very little moisture
ins the snow. If you don't believe me take a glass of unpacked snow and melt it.
See how little water you get.
So, once again...Make sure you give them water!

It was a mere -15 last night about midnight when I went
outside to fire up my wood boiler.
And, per the weather forecast we are to see more of this for the next week.
National weather service is saying the upper midwest will see the
coldest temps in 2 years.
So it can't be all that bad.
I remember much much cold weather in the early 70's.
But, that still doesn't mean we should ignore what we are being told!
Bundle up, take of the pets and make sure the car is in working order.

Let's try this again...
WE are being told that the real winter cold is on it's way.
Highs in the low to middle teens...BELOW ZERO!
It is time to fill the gas tanks.
Check out our pets that are outside.
And most important it is to have your furnace checked out if you have not done so yet this season.
HVAC guys are really busy and it is going to get crazy.
Don't get caught with your heat down!

I hear it all the time...
I wish it would snow!
I understand as I believe we need some snow for insulating the ground.
Many septics are starting to freeze.
Wishing for a storm so snowmobiles can run is understandable, but,
that wish may come to you in a vengeance.
Just ask those in areas that usually do not get much snow what they think.
A storm like this is also dangerous!

A friend who has had much more snow than I have and it
should be the other way around said he has found the culprit.
And he and the neighbors are taking things into their own hands.
It is a vigilante type of justice.
I can't say I agree with them but I do understand the frustration they have.
I told my friend to stay within g the law...don't know if he is going to listen!

WE have very little Snow here in North Branch, Mn
WE have received mostly rain.
People were happy they didn't have to shovel it.
Well, now they are cussing it as it turned to ice.
People are falling and getting hurt.
Not much we can do.
We salt and sand the roads, driveways and highways.
But it gets expensive.
But we roll with the punches

Well as it turns out, we got some of the worst of the Storm.
Warm and slushy turns into ice and cold.
Anything that is usually cleared by shovel will wait for a few days.
It has turned to ice under all of the slush.
And I for one should gave remembered what happens.
But, in a few days I will have my drive back in shape.

Yes, we dodged the bullet.
The storm went north of us.
We got a mixture of snow and rain.
Made for a slushy mess, but not hard to dig out of.
We needed some ground cover and that is what we got.
Now a little sun to clear the roads once again!
