thoughts: Some evening ponderings... - 09/25/13 10:14 AM
My mind wanders once in a while.
Actually, a lot!!
But here are a few things to think about if your mind is blank...

Nobody will believe in you unless you believe in yourself.

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.

Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
But today is a gift...that is why it is called the present.

Life is to short to scowl...SMILE!!!

thoughts: The two wolves inside us. - 09/25/13 10:07 AM
Many times we fight with ourselves about what is right and wrong.
Most of the time we do the right thing.
But how often we fight that voice in our heads.
Here is an old Indian explanation of those two wolves.

I believe that we can extend this to many aspects of our lives.
Love and hate for one!
Which wolf do you feed?

thoughts: What will stop the maddness? - 12/17/12 08:12 AM
The latest tragedy of the loss of our very young Children is going to take it toll.
I can't express the feelings I have for these families and many others.
But, what will stop it?
More Gun Control?  Not likely
Profiling of everyone?  Not accurate enough long term.
High taxes on ammo?  Nope.
Taking all guns away?  Not from my cold dead hands.
One thing that does seam to reverberate with a few of the shooters is Fame!   They hear the names of other shooters on the media none stop and to them they live on forever.
A few networks and … (10 comments)

thoughts: Idle thoughts of a Wandering Mind. - 09/06/12 08:52 AM
Some fun thoughts to ponder this evening.
Idle Thoughts.
I had amnesia once...or, was it twice?
I went to San Francisco and found someone's heart.  Now what?
Proton's have mass.  I didn't even know they were Catholic.
If the world was a logical place...Men would be the ones who rode horses side saddle!
What is a FREE Gift?  Aren't all gifts free?
They told me I was Gullible...and I believed them!
Teach a child to be kind and courteous in the home and they will grow up never being able to merge into the freeway traffic!
Just a few reason's we … (3 comments)

thoughts: What if? - 01/08/12 02:00 AM
We have many many pet owners here in the Rain that treat their pets as good if not better than many kids are treated.
Now, that being said, Dog owners...what if you dog was a teacher. What would you learn?
YOU WOULD LEARN:
When loved ones came home, always run and greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity for a joy ride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face with pure pleasure.
When in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they have invaded your territory.
Take Naps!
Stretch before rising, run, romp and … (16 comments)

thoughts: The media is scaring the public again! - 01/06/12 07:15 AM
I was having coffee with some of the local know-it-alls when The Irainian issue came up..."Oil is going up and will hit $225 in just a couple of weeks."
Once again, people who listen with one ear while they are talking are talking just a bit of what the media is saying, although one of the broadcasts I heard it would not be hard to make that assumption.
Media outlets try and report ALL of the daily news and because of it we hear just a few sound bites of what is really happening.
I am thinking the Media should have … (8 comments)

thoughts: A thought to ponder. - 12/31/11 03:35 AM
In this world of upheaval, everyone is pointing fingers at the other for the blame.
No one takes ownership of his/her own faults. It is so much easier just to blame the next guy.
Money problems the world wide has every Super Power pointing fingers at each other.
Here is a quote I found in one of my outdoor magazines.  No Author was given, but it makes a lot of sense.

If all the Nations in the World are in debt...Where did all the money go?

When you think about it, it kind of scares a person as to … (8 comments)

thoughts: Plan for tomorrow... - 08/05/11 11:30 AM
WE are geared to planning for tomorrow or the more distant future from a young age.
We are prompted to plan for retirement and sometimes at the expense of today.
I like to thimk of life like this...
All I have is today, right NOW!-----There is no yesterday because it can't bre changed.   There is no tomorrow as technically tomorrow never comes.  Every day had a new tomorrow.
So, I like to plan for tomorrw, try and forget yeterday but live TODAY!
Don't let it get away from you.

thoughts: I awoke with a Fever... - 02/18/11 08:43 AM

I awoke with a Fever...
Yea, I know that is nothing out of the ordinary.  There is a bug going around and most of the kids are sniffling, including my Grand Daughter.

But, my fever is much worse than the run of the mill stuff the kids have.

Waking from my nightly slumber because of a nightmare, I was in a cold sweat. The shakes had over taken my and I wasn't able to get the dream out of my mind.   I tossed and turned for some time and finally gave up and crawled out of bed.

thoughts: Are you courteous to your neighbors? - 02/06/11 05:57 AM
Have you ever seen a neighborhood feud.  I just run into one where next door neighbors were basically dueling with each other.
Now, I will say I have only heard one side of the story, but the side I heard says the neighbor is and A$$....
Well, that may be, but your actions are not going to help.   Now try and sell your home while you are fighting.  When you act like they do, you put yourself at their level.
Take the high road and you will find better ground.

thoughts: No wonder this Country is going in the tank! (Humor) - 10/15/10 03:48 AM
People talk all the time, but do they really say what they mean.  A lady buys a 'pair' of panties...but just 'one' bra.   When I went to school, "Pair" meant two!
Even our warnings to people don't make sense.  Why is there an expiration date on 'Sour Cream?'   It's already sour!
Our security is upside down...Convenient stores are open 24/7 yet they have locks on the doors.
Banks have locks, but leave the doors open during business, and then 'chain down' the pens like that is the most valuable thing they have in that building.
We drive in a 'Parkway', and … (16 comments)

thoughts: It's the best thing to come along in ages! - 09/15/10 01:54 PM
We have all heard this one.  It used to be when something new came out the saying was...
"It's the best thing since sliced bread!"
This saying has been around since the 1930's when Wonder Bread started selling 'sliced bread'.   There have been many sayings around, but the next best one is the title of this post.
But, think about the saying , "It's the best things since sliced bread...."
If it was such a great thing, what was the best thing before 'Sliced bread'?
Wondering minds would like to know!

thoughts: Thinking on ones feet is best with experience. (Humor) - 08/29/10 02:22 PM
I like to think I am quick witted, but sometimes my blonde roots show through.  But experience does have a way of changing that...
A lady lost her purse in a mall full of holiday shoppers.  In a few minutes, an honest little boy brought the purse to her.
"HMMM, When I lost the purse, I only had 1 $20 bill, and now I have 20 $1 bills."
"I know" said the little boy, "The last time I found a purse the lady didn't have any change for a reward!"

thoughts: Things I wish I had known earlier in life! - 08/20/10 05:26 PM
I have stumble through life picking up bits and pieces of info that I am finding very useful now that I could have used many years ago. Like...
Never continue to date someone who is rude to the waiter.
When baking follow dirictions.  When cooking follow your taste.
Never give yourself a haircut after 3 rum and cokes.
Everyone seams normal until you get to know them!
I she says that you are to good for her...believe her!
If you woke up Breathing...CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You have another chance!
Never under estimate the kindness of your fellow man.

thoughts: Gentle thoughts for today... - 08/20/10 02:09 PM
Many times we rant and rave about the heat or how busy we have been, or just how tough of a week it was.  I thought some more gentle thinking was in order.
Birds of a feather...flock together.  And then they S#*% on your car.
A Penny saved is a Government oversight!
He who hesitates is probably right!
Did you ever notice that the Roman Numerals for 40 are XL!
If you can smile when things go wrong...you have someone in mind to blame.
The sole purpose of a childs middle name is so that they know when they are REALLY … (13 comments)

thoughts: Greed will catch up to you someday! - 07/11/10 02:55 PM
How many times have you seen it.  Someone gets lucky and finds a windfall, and then tries to increase it.  Gamblers are notorious for this.  They win a little and then think they are on a roll, next thing they are behind.  But they are not the only ones...
At a Kansas Kwik Stop gas station, a man goes inside to rob the place.  He finds that the till has very little money in it.
Not to be deterred, he ties up the clerk, and then works the counter to increase his take.  He was arrested after 3 hours when a … (14 comments)

thoughts: Amazingly Simple Home Remedies. - 07/06/10 06:01 AM
After a fun weekend and one that had a scattered amount of business, this morning has been a catchup day.  I have made all he calls, now it's hurry up and wait for the return calls.  So, I thought being the 1st day after a Holiday takes some motivation to get moving that some light humor would help.
Amazingly Simple Home Remedies.
1) If you are choking on an ice cube...simply drink down a cup of real hot water. Presto, the blockage will simply remove itself.
2) Avoid cutting yourself when preparing vegetables...Have someone else hold them while you chop!

thoughts: Is there something you aren't telling me? - 06/16/10 09:49 AM
I am a healthy 25+ and, Alright, 35+, and I feel just great.  OK OK< my mind is 35, but my body is slightly over the Hill.  (I just don't remember seeing the hill.)
I was out in the yard doing some light chores and I see this Turkey Vulture flying overhead.  He has been around for the last few days.
I quick, grabbed my camera and snapped this piture.  Turkey Vultures are somewhat new to my area of Minnesota so I enjoyed getting a quick photo.
But, then the un-nerving part happened.
It landed in a tree in … (12 comments)

thoughts: Just imagine... - 03/23/10 08:42 AM
This is just a passing thought...
Congress and the President have worked for nearly a year on this health care bill.  Congress and other presidents also worked on this for over 10 years before.  10's of thousands of hours have been used on this issue.
NOW...Just imagine...
What if congress and the Presidents had worked this hard to reduce the deficit.
What if congress and the Presidents had worked this hare on educating our youth.
What if congress and the President had worked this hard on getting clean energy at a reasonable price and reduced our dependence on foreign oil.

thoughts: Some thoughts to ponder when the mind Wanders... - 02/07/10 07:22 AM
When I am alone with my thoughts, my mind wanders.  In fact, I have to believe that my mind spends more time on vacation than the rest of my body does.
Most of the time my musingsare just tidbits that flow in and out of my consciousness with out much meaning.
Here are 4 random thought from Will Rogers.  I believe that they do pertain directly to business and especially to our business.
Never miss a chance to shut up.   How many times have you wished you did?
If you find yourself in a hole....STOP DIGGING!!!
