Buffalo Grove's Willow Stream pool is now open and is better than ever was written by Mara Somlo, Senior at Stevenson High School and Judy Greenberg, Buffalo Grove Realtor. Although having a delayed openning due to a mechanical problem, the Buffalo Grove Park District opened the new and improved Willow Stream Pool at the beginning of June. The long wait was well worth it. The Willow Stream pool features a new blue waterslide that is bound to intrigue all thrill seekers. Don't miss the 2nd annual Buffalo Grove Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning commencing at 8:00 . The Buffalo Grove Thanksgiving Turkey Trot race will start and finish at Willow Stream Park, which is located on Old Checker Road, between Arlington Heights Road and Buffalo Grove Road. Plan to park in the lot near the soccer fields off of Checker Road. Packet pick-up and race day registration will take place in the pavilion near the playgrounds and baseball diamonds.This year after the race, there will also be a Frozen Turkey Costume Contest Race Proceeds will benefit the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Buffalo Grove Park District is now presenting West Side Story! I saw the Buffalo Grove Park Distict performance of West Side Story last night and it was simply spectacular! My niece Annie played the character Anita and I thought she did an awesome job. Don't miss this wonderful performance! The actresses and actors ranging from 6th graders to seniors in High School were all just magnificent. The scenery was great, the dancing superb, the singing was amazing.
