Cantonstock returns to Canton on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Canton High School. Cantonstock will feature performances from ALL of the performing groups from the Canton Public Schools, as well as arcade games, food, raffle items and more! It will be a fun and entertaining day for Canton residents of all ages. Cantonstock is the major fundraiser for MusicCounts!, Canton's music booster organization. Thanks to the generosity of the MusicCounts!, not to mention the tireless work of its volunteers, all after-school music programs have been fully funded since 2009. It's getting to be that time of year in Canton - time for the elementary schools Fifth Grade Plays. First up is the JFK Elementary School. JFK's 5th Graders will be performing Mything Links this Friday January 25 and Saturday January 26th. Every year each elementary school in Canton puts on a play, usually a musical. This is not a typical kids play where the lines are fed to them and it is done during school. It is performed on the "big stage" at Canton High, with sound, lights and the works. Canton High School's 2012 Winter Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 18th. It is looking to be another great performance by our high school students. The concert will be held at Canton High's Morse Auditorium and admission is FREE! First on the agenda will be the Tri-M Candidate Performances from 6 pm - 7 pm. Tri-M is a Music Honors Society open to those dedicated music students who have participated in the music programs at Canton High for at least one year, who maintain good grades and who volunteer their time in helping the music department. Canton MA's Galvin Middle School Performs at State House I took a break from my busy day (busy week, busy month!) today to go in to the Massachusetts State House to watch the Eight Grade Chorus from the Galvin Middle School perform at the State House. My daughter is in the 8th grade chorus and when I heard they were going to be performing there I thought it was a great opportunity for them.
