Don't be fooled by the snow, the cool weather or the shivering Robins outside your window, Spring is Here!  The proof is the arrival of the Annual Airdrie Home & Garden Fair.  The Airdrie Home & Garden Fair is is the largest Home and Garden show in Airdrie and showcases many products services for home and garden.
The Airdrie Home & Garden Fair will be taking place at the Genesis Place, for 2 days Saturday, April 30, 2011 and Sunday May 1, 2011  the trade show is being organized by Airdrie Chamber of Commerce (ACC).

Some people believe that interest rates could only go up from here since we are witnessing historically low fixed rates and that short-term rates are already climbing.  Waht if rates do march up while buyers sit on the fence waiting for prices to decrease?  That gamble could increase their monthly costs!
SCENARIO: 5-year mortgaeg rates rise from 3.69% (as at Sept 24, 2010) to 4.49%, a rate prevalent just five months ago, and house prices soften.  This is not a forecast - just an illustration.

In a recent article in The Globe and Mail it was reported that; "Canadians looking for homes are used to visiting the industry-funded Realtor.ca to browse listings. But the brokerages feel the site lacks the advanced information features about specific neighbourhoods that are needed to deal with a slew of anticipated rivals, all of whom are investing heavily in technology to lure home buyers – and advertisers – away from the MLS."

CENTURY 21 President, Don Lawby, comments on Competition Bureau Application The Competition Bureau submitted an application to the Competition Tribunal earlier this week after completing an investigation against CREA and found its business model, membership rules and the parameters surrounding MLS, to be in violation of competition rules. This issue has enormous implications on the real estate industry in Canada.

Wow! what a Kick off, the first day of the annual AIRDRIE Home and Garden Fair held at the Twin Arenas in Airdrie Alberta was a Rip Roaring success.  Everything was kicked off by a Stampede style Chuck Wagon Breakfast in the company of Royalty.  The Calgary Stampede Queen and 2 Princesses,were present at the Breakfast, along with City, Provincial and Federal government dignitaries.   
 
These were the Best Flap Jacks this writer has experienced at one of these outdoor breakfasts and by the size of my belt you can tell I've been to more than a few.  ALI-OOP was … (0 comments)
