selling: Airdrie YTD Sales Statistics - 09/11/10 09:13 AM
This has been an interesting year so far with plenty of opportunities for Seller and Buyer alike.    We have been fortunate in Alberta to have weathered the Housing Statrts storm and come out not only above most of the rest of Canada for Housiong Starts but even beat last years starts.
Resale homes have felt the cruch a bit from 2006 when homes were selling for well above list price in very short time frames. However, with approximately 5.5 months worth of inventory on the Airdrie market we are still in relatively good shape.  The careful buyer can find some real … (2 comments)

Tips From My Web Site

What is the best thing you can do during showings of your house?Make yourself scarce.
Ever shopped in a store where the employees clearly work on commission and almost seem to lurk in the background, watching your every move, while you shop?
This scenario doesn't really put you in the buying mood, does it?It can be uncomfortable exploring a home when you also feel like you're being watched. Making buyers feel comfortable when looking for a home is absolutely essential. Buyers tend to have little interest in asking you questions about your property because the answers you provide … (5 comments)

selling: BEWARE of Mortgage Payout Penalties - Canada - 03/04/09 06:47 AM
Don't Be Surpirised by Payout Penalties
If you are locked into a closed mortgage and you are Selling (or trying to negotiate a lower rate with another lender) you will be penalized.  This penalty will be added to the outstanding balance of your mortgage at the lawyers when you sell.  Sellers are sometimes surprised by this cost.
Penalties are usually calculated in the following way:
A) Three months interest on your current mortgage - a $300,000 mortgage would have a penalty of approx. $4,500.  I used 6% as an interest rate on a present mortgage.  $300,000 X .06 = $18,000 per … (1 comments)

1. Cut the clutter: If you’re like most people, you’ve accumulated a lot of stuff over the years. Moving provides a great incentive to finally get rid
of the junk you’ve been hoarding. Starting now will give you ample time to … (0 comments)
