Prices of single family homes in the Palm Beach Gardens community of Evergrene have declined about six percent in the first part of 2011 compared with 2010 sales. The drop in prices appears to be driven largely by short sales and foreclosures as more than half of the homes sold through June 10 in Evergrene were distressed properties. In 2010 there were 63 single family homes sold in Evergrene averaging $142 per square foot.
