barnstable county realtor: Radon Result Came Back High - Now What? - 11/01/09 02:53 AM
My house has high level of radon! Now what? If you are the Seller, chances are the Buyer is going to want YOU to take care of the problem. Not to panic, there are companies that can help. There are professional companies that specialize in the installation of radon remediation systems. They are not outrageously expensive and are much better than the alternative of refusing to address the problem. Refusing to fix the problem could result in losing the Buyer which means you would have to put the property back on the market. If the property goes back on the market, … (14 comments)

barnstable county realtor: Home Security - Are You Protecting Your Valuables? - 09/17/09 03:48 PM
Let’s talk about your homes security.   Everyone loves their stuff and most individuals are hoarders by nature (when you are willing to admit it).  With all that “stuff,” and this includes pets and loved ones, you need to be conscious about securing your property.
During difficult economic times, there is usually a rise in home burglaries and vandalism. There are many desperate people out there that could be targeting your property right now. I bring this to your attention not to frighten you, but to educate you on how you might be able to decrease the odds of being victimized. Please take … (16 comments)

barnstable county realtor: My ReBar Camp Boston 2009 Experience - 06/14/09 10:27 AM
ReBar Camp Boston MA 2009.  The day started off with a little unexpected drama.  I arrived early as I didn't want to miss one moment of the event.  I had read so many good reviews written by Active Rainer's about the ReBar camps that I could hardly wait for it to begin. What was in store?  Who would I meet? What new tips would I learn from the sponsors and attendees? There were several others that arrived early as well. You could feel the anticipation in the gathering crowd outside the building. There was a brief delay since nobody had the key … (22 comments)

barnstable county realtor: Are You a Ready, Willing and Able Buyer? - 06/10/09 04:53 AM
I had a client that was very interested in purchasing a property and wanted to go out and start shopping right away.  "These are all the things that the house must have.... here is what I am willing to pay.... I have excellent credit so that will not be a problem... I will have to sell my house, but I want to find a suitable replacement first."
Well, you might be ready, and almost willing, but you are not quite able at this point. That is, not without risk. This is still a buyer's market, but that is changing. Especially if you … (49 comments)

barnstable county realtor: What is Keeping You Out Of The Real Estate Market? - 06/07/09 02:15 PM
Are you considering selling your home to purchase a larger or smaller home to accommodate your current needs? Have you put your dreams on hold because you thought this was the worst time to sell a home? You have been bombarded with information telling you how bad it is to sell real estate. "It is a buyers market."  "Housing prices have fallen, and may or may not have reached bottom."  "You are competing with foreclosures and short sale properties."   All of these may be true to some degree.  But have you evaluated your situation and taken a close hard look at the numbers … (8 comments)

While on the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this past weekend,we came upon this beautiful surprise. It was showing all it's hot "pink" glory in honor of the event.  Does anyone know the name of this tree? I believe Kimo Stowell has solved the mystery of the flowering tree.Thank you Kimo.It may be a variety of the Hawthorn Tree.  Most of the photos I could find show white flowers, it could have been grafted with another tree, not sure. It is a very beautiful tree.

barnstable county realtor: A Dog Named... What? - 04/09/09 09:52 AM

An interesting thing happened to me the other day.  I stopped by to visit one of my favorite clients, and was introduced to a new addition to his family.                 A little puppy. You could see that a special bond had formed in only a few short days between the two.  It was a wonderful sight to behold.  She is a sweet little girl.  An Australian Cattle Dog with red coloring and bandit markings on her eyes.  Mind you, my client has become just as important to me as any member of my family.  However, I  had to laugh a little when he told me her … (12 comments)

barnstable county realtor: Can These Three Words Save Your Home From Foreclosure? - 02/24/09 01:17 AM
I was watching Good Morning America this morning, enjoying my morning cup of coffee, when the following statement caught my attention.   "Stopping a bank or mortgage company from foreclosing on your home may be as simple as these three words."

I had to watch to find out and was very surprised to learn this tidbit of information.  Perhaps it can help you or someone you know that was unaware of this technique.  I visited the website that they provided and wanted to share this video from You Tube which describes the program.  The three words, "Produce the Note"

The New England Boat Show is in full swing in Boston Massachusetts at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from February 14-22, 2009.  Over the weekend, I was hearing reports on the news that attendance was up and people were buying boats. Finally, some good news for the economy and for the vendors participating in the event.  I was excited by this news and love to boat, so I decided to see for myself if all the buzz was true. You know, get the scoop first hand. Was traffic really up? Are people buying boats at the show? Boating is recreational, … (7 comments)
