lake tahoe: Photoblog - Don't you wish you could fish from this bridge in Lake Tahoe, CA? - 07/09/11 07:14 AM
Lake Tahoe, CA.  In Tahoe City, which is on the North Shore of the lake is the outlet that feeds the Truckee River.  As you walk across the bridge, you see people looking down, down into the river...  Are they looking at ducks?  No.....  Geese?  Nooooo...  People swimming? Nooooo...  At me?  Nooooo....
Trout...  Rainbow, maybe brown trout, maybe brook trout, maybe steelhead?  But they are big...  Longer then your arm from the elbow.

They are just chillin' out there under the bridge...  And people are throwing in frozen peas, and fish food that you can buy at the store … (9 comments)

lake tahoe: Photoblog - Sand and water make good pictures... But not good for a camera... LOL! - 07/02/11 05:16 PM
So I have been on vacation this week in Lake Tahoe with my Son Ryan.
Swimming every day, throwing rocks in the water, roller skating, making smores in the fireplace, making snowmen (yes, there was still snow), swinging on the swings, Old Town Virginia City, Circus Circus in Reno, seeing the trains in Truckee, riding bikes and hiking the woods...

So ummmm...  Yesterday at the beach, of course having a great time digging holes, building castles so the big blue shorted monster could stomp them down got kinda carried away.
So in digging his HUGE hole, I was having … (15 comments)

lake tahoe: Photoblog Wednesday - Me and my son in Lake Tahoe - 06/29/11 04:47 PM
Gotta love Lake Tahoe...  I was headed down to Tahoe City which is on the North shore of Lake Tahoe.  The road follows the Truckee River up to the lake where the dam is located.  Well, not really a dam, but a out-take of the lake that coan control the amount of water leaving the lake at any particular time.
So I saw a cut out on the side of the road and pulled over.  My son Ryan and I trekked through the brush and found the most perfect place to throw rocks!

The water was sooooo cold obviously...  As … (27 comments)

lake tahoe: Speechless Sunday (Almost) - Bridal Veil Falls, Lake Tahoe - 01/23/11 08:58 AM
Traveling down Highway 50, West bound, away from Lake Tahoe stops you at a majestic site, Bridal Veil Falls.  When it is in winter and even better during the snow melt, it can really roar.  We were passing and saw that the Bridal Veil was showing, so I had to stop on the side of the road and snap this picture...

Now if you look closely at the trees, you can see ghost images of duplicate limps. That is because the actual waterfall is over 150 feet high.  So I took this picture with my iPhone, and auto stitched it together … (24 comments)

lake tahoe: Awesome Lake Tahoe pictures... Great perspective! - 01/17/11 05:02 AM
Driving from Reno down through Carson City then cutting over to South Lake Tahoe, takes you right next to the South edge of the lake, to Cave Rock.  It's a great park, with a boat ramp and everything.  We stopped there and played the snow, and climbed down the rocks to the waters edge and took some pictures.

When you are rounding the curve, you come to a tunnel, and emerge at Cave Rock.  It is kind of interesting, as if you were driving a huge big rig, you would have to make sure that you center yourself on this … (25 comments)
