cape coral: LISTENING.........More Important Than Ever in These Times!!! - 07/31/08 10:31 AM

It started as another beautiful sunny day down here in Cape Coral Florida, but sometimes things aren't always as bright as they appear.  Late last night I received a telephone call on my cell phone, from someone who had seen my ad in our church bulletin.  The call came in around eight o'clock, and he said that he would like to see me tomorrow morning because he had to sell his home.  It seems that I have received a lot of those phone calls lately and I immediately assumed that he too was unable to pay the mortgage and was going … (1 comments)

cape coral: A Little Hump Day Humor From Cape Coral!! - 07/30/08 06:32 AM
Well it's anotherbeautiful hot sunny day here in beautiful Cape Coral Florida and it's Wednesday otherwise known as "hump" day!!! Today has already been better than yesterday, partially because somebody sent me a few jokes!.  There is nothing like a good laugh during the course of the day to make things better, and I wanted to share them with you! Enjoy!
The High School Reunion
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table. My wife asked, … (3 comments)

cape coral: Bad Day! What Would You Have Done? - 07/29/08 01:03 PM
Today was the first day back in the office in beautiful Cape Coral, Florida after a week in New Jersey!  You know what the first day is like a day after a week messages piled high and a million things that need your attention immediately!  Today however, I had a pressing problem that needed my attention as soon as I had returned!
Back in April, I have listed a property three bedroom, two bath 1627square ft. for $169,000! This home was built in 2006 and had many upgrades and was on a beautifully manicured lot!  The CMA at the time showed … (3 comments)

cape coral: It Is Hotter in Newark, New Jersey Than in Cape Coral, Florida! - 07/18/08 05:14 AM
I departed Southwest Florida International Airport yesterday morning with a temperature of 88°.  I boarded a flight to Newark, New Jersey, and when we landed in Newark, the pilot said the temperature is 92°!  So much for escaping the Southwest Florida heat for a week or so! I am on the monthly training run again, with stops in Watchung, New Jersey, Northfield, New Jersey, and possibly Baltimore, Maryland.
This trip however is a combination of both business and pleasure.  Having grown up in the Bronx for the first 20 years of my life, I had many opportunities to attend baseball games  at … (6 comments)

cape coral: Is It Really Worth Jail Time? - 07/16/08 08:44 AM
Today is another rainy day in usually sunny Cape Coral Florida!  But I guess we can't complain, on average, we have five days like this every year!  According to my wife Patti, this is number 3 this year, so we can expect two more!  On rainy days like this I usually like to sit down and work on my marketing and educate myself on the real estate market!  Not only do I want to stay on top of what's happening in Cape Coral and Fort Myers, but I also want to stay abreast of what's happening throughout our country.
While I … (2 comments)

cape coral: A Little Midweek Humor-" You Did What?" - 07/15/08 11:11 AM
The rainy season has really kicked in down here in beautiful Cape Coral and it actually rained all day today! We have had our share of rain this year and I am sure the water levels are starting to rise!  Anyway, here is a little story I read about two friends from Cape Coral! I hope you enjoy it!
Bill and Sam, two elderly friends, met in the park every day to feed the birds, watch the squirrels and discuss world problems. One day Bill didn't show up. Sam wasn't concerned; he thought Bill might have a cold or some urgent … (5 comments)

cape coral: Why Do They Always Pick On Blondes?? - 07/10/08 03:22 PM
It has been a quiet week so far in Cape Coral! I guess agents as well as buyers have extended the July 4th weekend into a vacation week! I have read my share of funny emails and I figured I would share a few more blonde jokes with you! See I can do that because I am blonde! Does anybody know why they always pick on blondes?
-A blonde pushes her BMW into a gas station. She tells the mechanic it died. After he works on it for a few minutes, it is idling smoothly. She says, 'What's the story?'He replies, 'Just crap in the carburetor' She asks, 'How often … (5 comments)

cape coral: "Look Ma, No Hands!" - 07/08/08 01:31 PM
When I was first introduced to Active Rain, I thought blogging was a wonderful idea!  I could not wait to get involved, but I have one major concern.  My typing ability at best, is on a second grade level.  I guess I have learned a keyboard and I use two fingers to navigate it. But boy, do those two fingers get tired!
It has been easy to see over the last three months, how valuable blogging can be to your search engine optimization and to developing a strong network of  realtors throughout the country.  I have spent hours typing blogs that would … (9 comments)

cape coral: " Are You The Man Of Your House?" - 07/08/08 11:45 AM
I just received this from my clients and I wanted to share it with everybody on Active Rain. My wife just left for Las Vegas, and for now I am the man of my house -while she's gone.  She will be back on Friday and things will be back to normal in Cape Coral! Of course I'm just kidding, Patti!
Has anybody read this book?
The husband had just finished reading a new book entitled, 'You Can Be the Man of Your House.'He stormed to his wife in the kitchen and announced, 'From now on, you need to know that … (5 comments)

I am sure many of you will be at the Cape Coral, Red, White and BOOM extravaganza and I will try to get some pictures to share with those of you who won't be lucky enough to see it!
Enjoy the weekend, whatever you are doing and please just take a short moment or so to reflect and to remember all of those who have made the sacrifice for us so we can live in the … (0 comments)

Living in Cape Coral, Florida and having most of my family up north I get a lot of emails from them daily! I guess it is how we communicate in today's world! Many of them are funny and I share them with everyone from time to time. Others are hysterical but not suitable for this forum! This one however I must share! I do not know who to credit with putting this together but thank you whoever you are!! I am sure they will not mind that I shared it with you!
What Love means to a 4-8 year old . … (14 comments)

I wrestled with this one all day yesterday and I would like to know what some of you would have done! I just got back in Cape Coral from my son's wedding in NY late on Sunday! I had been gone for just short of two weeks so you know what I had waiting for me when I got back! Thankfully I had a closing scheduled for Monday, a short sale and as of Friday everything was a go. The bank had ordered a water inspection and that was completed on Friday and we were notified we were clear to close!

cape coral: Can Anyone Answer These Questions.......Please! - 06/24/08 12:37 PM
I have been away from Cape Coral for a week now and I have been doing a lot of thinking while I relax here in New York with my children and their kids! They say kids ask the darndest questions and here are a few! I need all of my friends on AR to help me out!
-If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him?
-If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?
-How important does a person have to be before they are … (10 comments)

cape coral: Your Business Will Survive..... Take a Break!! - 06/23/08 02:09 AM
Since January it has been like old times for Realtors in Cape Coral and the rest of Southwest Florida! Buyers have been taking advantage of the low prices and we have been working from dawn to dusk to keep up! This has been a welcome return after a long 26 months or so without anyone to talk to! However, we need to remember that we do need to recharge our batteries from time to time! Time off is important and we all need it!
After doing my monthly Agent Support Sessions in Cape Coral, Jacksonville, Atlantic City and Watchung, NJ this … (12 comments)

cape coral: There Is Nothing Like A Good Laugh!!!! - 06/19/08 06:16 AM
I left beatuful Cape Coral, Florida on Monday and I miss it already! I have been on the road for 4 days now and after 4 flights and 3 nights in different hotels I am to say the least- a little worn out! After dealing with airport personnel and being surprised that I had to pay for my luggage because their policies have changed, my patience have been stretched to the limit!
In both Jacksonville, Florida and in Northfield, NJ I was fortunate enough to meet with some very creative and productive real estate agents at our monthly agent support sessions! … (3 comments)

Someone had already built their home on your lot and they were living in it! In fact the original builder had already sold it to someone else! I know what you are thinking, that this is not possible, right? Well I am starting to think that anything is possible in beautiful Cape Coral! Here is the story as it appeared in our local paper!

I have sold many homes throughout my career in Cape Coral and I always try to make a great impression and deliver more than the client expects! I always want to be remembered and when they hear someone mention real estate I immediately want them to think about Mike Kelly and Sellstate Advantage!
Well this time I think I have succeeded and maybe even over done it! My wife and I were working with a young couple who were looking to take advantage of the low prices and purchase their first home! We found the home of their dreams at a … (11 comments)
