real estate humor: Humor or Reality? Time Will Tell - November Is Close. - 08/23/10 04:09 AM
I received this joke in my email and thought it is a reflection of the thoughts of many I talk to in real life these days. It sure would be good to have people in Congress who have had to actually worked in the private sector a little bit at least.  Then maybe laws and regulations might make a little more business sense.
The Haircut
One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, "I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week."

real estate humor: Funny Showing Instructions - 08/17/10 09:01 AM
I had to throw my head back and laugh at this one. WYSIWYG pictures and hilarious showing instructions make this one good for a giggle. The house is in an estate.  The contents are strewn throughout, the landscaping hasn't been maintained, and the building needs a BIG hug (TLC).
What made me laugh are the showing instructions that are for other agents and brokers: "Call us to let us know you're going in case we need to send out a search party." The public description is pretty clear for buyers, too.  "Why so cheap? Well here's the bad news: It needs lots … (59 comments)

real estate humor: If you need a giggle... - 06/09/10 08:30 AM
I like a good grin and I like a laugh better.  If you have ever played Powerball or Mega-millions, there are a few things that you might need to know. So the Powerball people created an FAQ page. I was directed to this page when someone was telling jokes.
I was asked between grins and giggles from the jokes being passed around, "Have you ever read the Powerball FAQ page?" Well, today I somehow ended up there, and sure enough, there are some humorous entries. Some of the funniest comments are those scrolling at the bottom.
So, if you need a grin, take a … (2 comments)

real estate humor: Craving Chocolate At Work? Try A Coffee Mug Cake! - 05/26/10 01:06 AM
How about a chocolate cake instead of a coffee break?! This little recipe can make a chocolate lover's day. Some offices offer cappuccino and bottled water, now the fancy ones can let them eat cake! For real!
(Also, if you print the recipe and place it in a mug that has your logo, it could be part of a closing gift basket.)
4 T. flour 4 T. sugar 2 T. cocoa 1 egg 3 T. milk 3 T. oil (or try real butter...worked very well) 3 T. chocolate chips (optional) Small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee … (6 comments)

real estate humor: Are You Listening? Here's A Simple Test - Or Is It Simple? - 05/06/10 04:16 AM
Here is a simple, five question test. These questions not only test what you know, they test how well you pay attention. Sometimes it is not what we know but how we respond to what is being asked.
It is amazing how the mind works. How well does yours work?
Here is a warm up to get you started:
What is the opposite of black? What color is snow? What color is a polar bear? What do cows drink?
Cows dring water.

real estate humor: If you don't laugh at this, you don't know chili or Texans - 03/03/10 04:07 AM
Jay Schmitt, a Gettysburg PA Realtor here on ActiveRain, found this saved in old unused email account and posted it the other day. He said, "I cannot make it all the way though this without stopping from the laughter. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do."Well, I read it and had tears in my eyes too! For some reason it wouldn't re-blog, so I asked him for permission to re-post it in my blog today. If you know chili and Texans, this is very funny!

real estate humor: Air Traffic Control Humor - 02/06/10 07:27 AM
My Dad was a pilot yeas ago. He still likes to fly, but is only able to as a passenger these days. He sent me these humorous bits of communication. I had a few good laughs and thought you might like a few, too.
Tower: "Delta  351, you have traffic at 10 o'clock, 6  miles!" Delta 351: "Give  us another hint! We have digital watches!"----------------------------------------------Tower: "TWA  2341, for noise abatement turn right 45  Degrees." TWA  2341: "Center,  we are at 35,000 feet.. real estate humor: A Smile Is Contagious! What do you think of mine?! - 11/23/09 10:51 PM
What do you think of mine?! I try to get my daughter to smile every day before she gets out of the car at the high school. She giggles sometimes, and other times she tries not to crack a grin. But in the end, she usually relents.
A smile is contagious! Infect someone today with the smile flu!!

Did you at least grin inside when you looked at my gappy toothed grin! It's a another beautiful day on Cape Cod! Here's grinnin' at You!
Feel free to add yours to the comments area and grin back!

real estate humor: Humor: Republicans and Democrats/Major Media vs Fox - 10/26/09 07:50 AM
This is just a joke folks. If it makes you uneasy, ask yourself why.
A pretty little girl named Suzy was standing on the sidewalk in front of her home. Next to her was a basket containing a number of new kittens. In her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS. Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a tall, grinning man.
"Hi there, little girl, I'm representing President Obama. What do you have in the basket?" he asked.
"Kittens." little Suzy said.
"How old are they?" asked the spokesman.
Suzy replied, "They're … (5 comments)

real estate humor: Real Estate Is Not A Dirty Job, But These Jobs Are! - 10/26/09 02:20 AM
If you think real estate is not easy, watch this! The tv show Dirty Jobs has a YouTube that summarizes some of their episodes. When you're feeling overwhelmed, watch it and be grateful! Some people work in far more dificult jobs. I had a good laugh at some of them.
This is an amazing country. There are jobs that go on all the time that are beyond our imagination, until you see them on tv. Then you're kind of moved to comment like the guy on Dirty Jobs, "Well, I guess that does need to be done by someone." I … (3 comments)

real estate humor: How to excite your Woman - HUMOR - 10/21/09 02:56 AM
I thought I'd post these thoughts before one of the five women in my family, or one of the hundreds of agents/brokers in town here point me to a site with them:
With her in the car on the way to anywhere, look deeply into her eyes and say, "Let me pull over and ask for directions."
After dinner, when the candles are still burning, say, "I'll clear the table and do the dishes, honey. You go watch ANTM."
Greet her with a cup of coffee in the morning and let her know you have already taken out the garbage, vaccuumed the … (0 comments)

real estate humor: Best Explaination of Mortgage/Financial Crisis - 04/28/09 12:54 AM
This explanation was offered by a mortgage professional.  After searching the Net, I can't tell who's explanation it was originally, but it clearly explains what happened....
Heidi is the proprietor of a bar. In order to increase sales, she decides to allow her loyal customers - most of whom are unemployed alcoholics - to drink now but pay later. She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans).  Word gets around and as a result increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar.
Taking advantage of her customers' freedom from immediate payment constraints, Heidi increases her … (2 comments)

real estate humor: 19,600,000 results for Dallas real estate? - 02/12/09 08:41 AM
How can there be so many web pages available for Dallas real estate, if there are less than two and a half million licensed real estate agents in the whole United States?  Well, of course the answer is that there are many pages in every web site.  And, many, many, many sites that mention Dallas real estate, so there could actually be more than 19,600,000 results when searching for Dallas real estate.
Well, lets say that the average real estate agent has at least 10 pages on their web site.  Those pages might be called 1)About Me, and 2)Featured Listings/My Listings.  There might be information … (3 comments)

real estate humor: Shake hands or hug? Awkward. Even more so, the kissers. - 12/19/08 03:08 AM
So how do you know when to shake hands and when are you supposed to hug?  I am more of an introvert, so I like shaking hands.  Occasionally I get into that awkward position where one person wants to shake hands and the other is a hugger.  Then there is that awkward switching to hugging from a hand shake, and then back to a hug, and then leaning in for the handshake in the end but only partly grabbing the hand properly...    Whew!  I am so glad when that's over.
I really get into trouble with my wife's family - they … (21 comments)

real estate humor: The over pricing hangover. - 12/03/08 04:56 AM
So if you read this humorously with an "Andy Rooney of 60 Minutes" voice, you will capture my intent more clearly.  Here goes.
Did you ever take a real estate listing that you knew was over priced?  Any experienced agent or broker can probably answer yes to this one.  Why do we take over priced listings anyway?  Is it because we don't want to hurt the feelings of the owner?  Or maybe we don't want the competition to get the listing instead of us.  Maybe it is our first listing and we just want one on the books.  Or maybe we haven't … (3 comments)

real estate humor: E.D. Strikes Both Men and Women Real Estate Professionals! - 05/28/08 07:01 AM
Now, more than ever, ED has stricken every real estate professional!  Whether it is a multi-million dollar waterfront mansion or a tear down foreclosure next to wetlands near a superfund site, ED affects us all.  Sellers, lenders, investors, agents and brokers have all been experiencing the ravages of the dreaded ED!
If only there were a drug to correct Equity Disappearance!  So many markets have been overcome with this problem that huge numbers of economists are currently devoting 100% of their free time to concocting a remedy.  Of course the remedy when found will only be available on a per click … (4 comments)
