upper cape towns: Want To Eat Lobster? - 04/17/11 07:10 AM
This week we had a great seafood dinner. The kids were all away, we were in the mood for some good seafood, and we live on the ocean. It all added up to a nice evening with great eats.
While I was picking up the victuals for our romantic feast, I noticed that Falmouth Fish, http://www.falmouthfish.com , will ship live lobsters to your home address if you aren't as close to their Falmouth MA location as I am. They have overnight shipping for orders from "2 to 100, and anything in between."
If you're lookin fer some lobster, matey, try Falmouth … (3 comments)

upper cape towns: Its A Beautiful Day On Cape Cod! - 10/23/10 05:21 AM
Its A Beautiful Day On Cape Cod! The picture below was taken behind my house. It is the view we get to appreciate here on Cape Cod.
Sometimes there are as many as 50 swans hanging out there. Today, there were swans and ducks. There is also a Ospreys and Hawks that hunt this area. With the colors changing and the air cooling, the Cape is a great place to enjoy fall.
Come on down to Cape Cod. We have open houses all weekend, and Its A Beautiful Day On Cape Cod!

Here on the Cape, we often have different weather than is reported by "Off Cape" TV stations and radio stations. With the introduction of web cams, you can now get traffic, weather, and event information. Many towns are installing web cams in various areas to encourage tourism.

upper cape towns: Funny Showing Instructions - 08/17/10 09:01 AM
I had to throw my head back and laugh at this one. WYSIWYG pictures and hilarious showing instructions make this one good for a giggle. The house is in an estate.  The contents are strewn throughout, the landscaping hasn't been maintained, and the building needs a BIG hug (TLC).
What made me laugh are the showing instructions that are for other agents and brokers: "Call us to let us know you're going in case we need to send out a search party." The public description is pretty clear for buyers, too.  "Why so cheap? Well here's the bad news: It needs lots … (59 comments)

upper cape towns: What makes The Cape Upper or Lower? - 05/24/08 04:14 AM
Every year someone stops in my office with a the question, "What is the Upper Cape?"  There aren't really any traditional explanations.  Most people when asked, will name the towns that are considered the Lower Cape, but they won't be able to tell you why they are called the Upper and Lower Cape.  The same thing happens for Martha's Vineyard.  Why is Gay Head, now named Aquinnah (and where I proposed in 1985), called Up Island?
Well, the answer is simple.  Because the Cape and Islands were coastal and shipping based economies when they were founded, they use latitude to describe certain areas.  … (1 comments)
