That is precisely what a 20-something neighbor –  a young lady I'd never met before – said to me as we both lounged by the pool recently.  She delivered the fabulous news in-between text messages she was exchanging with a girlfriend that was sitting right next to her.  At first, I turned around to see who else she might be talking to – then graciously said "Thank You" as I buried my head back into the latest issue of Reader's Digest magazine.

Sometimes I feel as though my computer and I are joined at the hip.  Practically inseparable, I am frequently on my laptop computer finishing projects, developing new professional relationships – or otherwise – faithfully staying connected with established contacts.  Clearly, smartphones have enabled us to function and exist with increased mobility.  Nonetheless, we all need a 'break' from our seemingly endless world of technology every now and then.  Oddly enough, I've met some incredible – and some unlikely – people during those well-needed 'breaks.'

When I was a little girl, I used to get separated from my mom all the time while she shopped in the department store.  Bored, curious, and looking for adventure, I would regularly wander off in an effort to explore areas more appealing to a child my age.  Eventually, a store employee would notice me –  then invariably escort me to Customer Service.  Soon afterwards, I was asked for my name and age, and then a version of the following announcement was recited over the PA system.  I can remember the words like it was yesterday:
