real estate: North Carolina Triangle - What is it? - 08/05/12 01:27 AM
The North Carolina Triangle or RTP - What is it?

Some of you may know what it means when people refer to the Raleigh Durham area as "The Triangle". Many may not.  Basically, the Triangle was named because of the Three Big Universities and Towns that form a Triangle. Raleigh, NC with North Carolina State University (NCSU), Chapel Hill with University of North Carolina (UNC), and Durham with Duke University (Duke).  At the Durham County and Wake County border is RTP or Research Triangle Park. This area business park houses many large companies such as Cisco, IBM, GSK, Biogen, BASF, … (11 comments)

Yikes! Why don't listings show the assigned schools for Wake County Public Schools in the Raleigh, Cary, Apex areas of North Carolina???
This is a question we get often in the Raleigh, Cary, Apex and surrounding areas of Wake County.
And the answer is...

real estate: Closing Gift - Part Two (You're Really Going to Like These!) - 04/01/11 04:49 PM
Today The Preston Fonville Morisey Realty Office had a luncheon and vendor fair for us.  There were a few select vendors there to share potential closing gifts.  I found them to be very interesting and worthy of sharing.
First was Red Light Chocolates.  They brought an assortment of chocolates to sample in beautiful red and black elegant gift boxes.  I sampled the chocolate salted caramel and it was Divine!  Straight from the Triangle in Fuquay-Varina, Red Light Chocolate is sure to please even the most finicky palate.

real estate: Closing Gift Favorites and the Kodak Closing Gift Blog Contest - 03/25/11 02:32 AM
There seems to always be a lot of conversation about closing gifts.  Just this week at our weekly sales meeting, our Broker In Charge suggested we have a clinic and even include vendors showcasing closing gifts.
For me, I usually want the closing gift to be something meaningful.  I try to think about comments my clients made along the way or pick up on little things they like. Here are some of my favorites and good ole standbys.
Favorites:
I had a young couple purchasing their first home.  Everytime they saw a home with a weeping willow tree, they commented on it.  They finally … (11 comments)

This is part of a series of the Benefits of Using a Realtor® or Real Estate Agent.  There are many Great Reasons to use a Realtor®.  However, there are some you many not even think about.
When thinking about buying a home, many people start out in more of a hap hazard way.  The start going to open houses, new construction homes, looking on the Internet, etc.
When looking for a home, the very first thing you need to do is partner with a qualified Real Estate Agent.  You can read some of my other blogs about the benefits but, in this … (7 comments)

real estate: Why Sellers Sell when there is a Divorce or Break Up - 01/30/11 02:52 PM
When we work with Buyers, we're often asked, "Why are they selling?" There are many reasons why Sellers are Selling Their Homes. First, we usually don't have insider information such as why a seller is selling.  In our area, there could be anywhere from 15,000 to 20,000 homes available for sale at any given moment.  A listing agent will protect their clients and not disclose why a seller is selling unless it is helpful to the seller to disclose that information and the seller gives their approval.
There are many Reasons Why a Seller is selling their Home. Once of these … (2 comments)

real estate: Cary NC When School is Out Activites for Kids - 10/28/10 05:36 AM
Programs & Camps for kids in Cary, NC.
This is great informaiton from my RE Partner Sharon.  She's a former Wake County Teacher.  I'm a parent of children in public and private schools and have worked & served in various schools.
We completely understand how difficult it can be for parents when their children are out of school and how boring it can be for the kids as well.
Just to add a couple of ideas, if you have high school students such as I do.  You may consider having them volunteer on their day off.  LOL right? Actually many high school … (3 comments)
