Ya know, there are some days that require us to push ourselves to the limit.  And when we do that we tend to be a little out of sorts, grumpy and lose a little of our perspective on the world. 
And then when we call it a day we return home - wherever that might be - and there it is.
HOPE.
Pure and simple HOPE for the future.

Ya know, some days we wake up and realize that we take way too much for granted.  We see people every day, nod our heads, smile, wave and continue on with our lives.  But...did we really see people?  Did we pay attention to their response when we smiled or waved?  Probably not.
We have a young family that lives next door and they are struggling - as do many young families.  The father works 2, sometimes 3 jobs, mom is handicapped from a childhood accident and there are two little ones that are a breath of fresh air - most of the … (12 comments)

When I was a kid my grandparents used to refer to groups of people as "Haves" and "Have Nots" meaning that they were either affluent or dirt poor.  For their generation there was no middle ground.  There was no such thing as middle class/working class.  And when you look at those terms as defining entire groups of people, it's pretty darned disturbing.
Aren't we more than a label?  More than a simplistic euphemism to describe differences in people and social stature?  Well, we would hope so.  But there is still a chasm between the Haves and Have Nots.  There is still a … (9 comments)
