Whenever company comes to town I love taking them to beautiful Lake Chelan at Chelan, Washington. The 50.5 mile long Lake Chelan is absolutely beautiful and there are 28 wineries scattered around the area. Most of them offer wine tasting. My favorite winery so far is the Lake Chelan Winery, which offers FREE wine tasting. FREE is my favorite price but, as you can imagine, their wines are really good and it's very difficult to get out of there for FREE. Friday, I took my visitors to Chelan. A few weeks ago a friend and I took a day trip to Chelan, Washington for the sole purpose of wine tasting. First, we stopped at the local Lake Chelan Visitor Bureau, which is amazing, by-the-way. The Visitor Bureau gave us a list of all the wineries, their locations and which ones offered free tasting and which ones charged a tasting fee. Little did we know there are something like 28 wineries in the Chelan area. Being the frugal ladies that we are, we chose to visit the free ones first. High above Lake Chelan in Manson, Washington is a fun and very popular restaurant called Blueberry Hills Farm. They grow their own blueberries and are known for their many blueberry products. Here is a picture of the view from the deck of the restaurant. There are blueberry fields and an apple orchard in the foreground, with the Lake in the far distance.

Golf is my favorite active pasttime and I enjoy playing many various courses near Wenatchee, across the State and in the Southwest during the winter months. One of my very favorite courses ever is Bear Mountain Golf Resort, just 35 miles north of Wenatchee. Bear Mountain is not only a fun, yet challenging, course to play... it has fabulous views overlooking Lake Chelan from every single hole.
